Guess what boys and girls it's my favorite time of the year. Birds are chirping, leaves are falling, Lakers are ready to start dominating the whole NBA again.
Call on your Duncans, Garnetts and Kidds to save you, but there will be no stopping the Hall of Fame Four-pack.
Lakers will be the next NBA champs. You heard it here 1st and I will be reminding all haters throughout the season.

That girls mental state will be trial and thats as stable as CA during a 7.1.
FYI, there are talks of MJ coming in to fill his shoes if he does go to jail. MJ would actually work well on this team but we wont need him and thats that. Kobe could decide to take a year off though.....

They can say all they want about the girl's health, but the sheriffs out there have been witholding key evidence and findings from the media for obvious reasons. Once the trial begins, i'm sure we'll finally find out what that evidence is. I just can't believe Kobe is waiving the preliminary tomorrow and going straight to trial. I guess he is essentially admitting that yes, they probably do have hard evidence against me, so i may as well not even bother trying to fight it in the preliminary hearing. HAHA

after watching their first 2 preseason games. they are going to be a great team this year. the first few season games will be like crap because all the players are getting to know one another on the court but once that works out this team will be Showtime.
weren't the lakers prepped for the title last year too though? it's easy to draw up winners on paper, let's see if they execute. besides dallas, minnesota, and san antonio are looking pretty strong this season. maybe not better than the fakers starters, but pretty darn good. all about the warriors anyway. booyah. if the warriors lose a game by less than 15 i count that as a win. with my scoring system we're pretty decent.

It b/c Lakers fans are bandwagon fans. When the Lakers weren't so hot (when Del Harris was coaching, and they had Van Exel, Eddie Jones, and Ceballos [sp?]) they couldn't get their act together. They were like the Trailblazers, all that talent gone to waste... But back to the point, no one went to the games and no one cared about the Lakers.
Then all of sudden you have Kobe and Shaq, and now everyone is all "Lakers 4 Life."
as for me, I was brought up to be a Lakers fan, since my Dad and Uncle are fans (back in the James Worthy, Magic, Kareem days)
but yea i find all those ppl that they interview on KCAL 9 so ****ing annoying!

So true, so true. I'll take your point a step further and say it's because socal fans are bandwagon fans. Fair-weather fans, if you can even call them fans. Case in point: October 2002, everybody hops on the Anaheim Angels bandwagon. Angels caps and jerseys are showing up everywhere. Half the people wearing them don't know jack about baseball, but they heard somewhere that the team has been winning, so they go out and sport their Angels pride. Fast forward to the 2002-2003 season. The MLB chumps are battling for worst in the AL West. No Angels merchandise in sight. WHERE ARE YOUR HALOS CAPS NOW, ANGELS "FANS"? If you claim to support a team, you need to support them when they're good and when they're bad. Love those Giants, even after they choked against the Marlins. Love those Warriors, even after failing to make the postseason yet again. I'm not sure I've EVER seen the Warriors make the playoffs, but they're still my team. How many of the so-called Laker faithful were fans before they started winning? That's what I thought.

This is my thread and I've been a fan since before Magic. Raised up on Magic to Worthy passes. So go look to other threads to see bandwagoners, here it's all real. Hell, I still wear my Dodgers stuff so I don't carry no fair weather anything.

Have you ever heard the saying, "The exception makes the rule"? Okay so you've backed your team for a while. I'm not mad at that, it sounds like you're a true fan. But the majority of Lakers fans today weren't Lakers fans before they started winning. The fact that you don't fit that "mold" *rimshot* (jello joke) doesn't disprove my theory about socal bandwagon fans, it supports it. If it was typical for socal fans to be faithful to their teams, you wouldn't have had to point out that you're a real fan.

Actually, no. Typically if you waive your preliminary it means that the defense does not have enough evidence to prove that there was nothing wrong. Kobe has already admitted to having intercourse with this woman, so now everything depends on evidence and testimony.
I don't know if any of you saw the court proceedings today, but a handful of the evidence was made public. It is still her word vs. his, but from what I understand, right after he raped her, the woman went downstairs and told the bellhop at the hotel everything. I am sure he'll be testifying later.
Everybody here where i work is a huge Lakers/Kobe fan...and even they are doubting Kobe's innocence now. And this is just after the preliminary evidence was revealed.
I would love to see if they have any forensic or other scientific evidence. Rock on California. First it was O.J. Then it was the Governator. Now it's Kobe vs. his Ego.
Updated: This is taken from an article posted AP.
"Winters testified that the woman's blood was found on the inside of Bryant's T-shirt, based on DNA tests. The woman told him she had bleeding from the attack, he said.
The prosecution also presented photographs showing vaginal injuries and one of a bruise on the woman's jaw, and a rape nurse's statement that her injuries were not consistent with consensual sex."
So, basically there is evidence of her blood on his clothes and a rape nurse's statement. There are apparently some "holes" in the detective's testimony, so we'll see how things pan out.

No need to block his teammates' shots, he can just shoot on his own team's hoop (a la Ricky Davis going for the shady triple double). Oh wait. Then he'd have to be able to make shots to hurt his team. Yeah maybe the whole shot blocking thing's not such a bad idea. He could always threaten to eat Gary Payton.

loved gary payton since the day he was drafted.
never been much of a malone fan.
but when it's all said and done, even if they win the title, it would feel weird to call either of them "lakers." i mean, it's great for los angeles that they came, and it's great for them if they get a ring, but let's be honest. malone will always be part of the jazz, and gary will always be a supersonic.
and i think that's why i have a little trouble accepting the moves that were made this past postseason. if malone and payton stay on for three or four seasons more and win a couple more championships with the lakers, then i'll consider calling them lakers. but i'd rather sport a seattle #20 than a purple and gold one.
