how forward are you when it comes to men? I mean, if you see a guy you like or find interesting, would you just approach them? Or would you give signals, hint, etc.? Does it depend on the situation? Would you start a conversation with the guy, or do you expect him to go out on a limb for you?

My situation: I was at one of my new haunts, and a girl that I've seen there pretty much every day for the last week walked right up next to me and looked like she was about to sit with me at my table. Anyway, when I looked up, she suddenly started surveying the walls like she was looking for something, walked away for a minute, and then came right back and sat a couple of tables away. :hmm: I think I must observe this girl more closely in the next few days.

before i was married-i was the one to walk up to guys for my friends and say--"see that girl over there-she's interested...if you want to meet her-stop over"..then i'd walk away..no sense in not being forward-fastest way to let a good thing slip outta your hands if you arent...it's a mans world these days...But we're coming back-better than ever..maybe she wanted to get a good look at your wart or something..are you sure you're not the subject of a bet thats going on? LOL

Maybe. It wouldn't be the first time I scared someone away with my ugly mug. :dodgy:

it's a game and always open to interpretation.
if i liked the guy i would make eye contact with him first and by that tell if he might be interested and then go up and make conversation with him. this would be if he didn't approach me first, and make it easier.

Well since you've each seen each other there several times you have a breat ice breaker. Next time she's there just use that to start a conversation.

I think I must observe this girl more closely in the next few days. :banghead: Observe nothing! That sounds like a great excuse to do nothing. Observing won't do $hit!

from there, if you see her again next time, do the same thing, but this time say hi. just say "hi.". if youre too far from her but still making eye contact, just "MOUTH" the word "hi". and again, make sure the hi is a short hi, not the "heeeey, how you doin? i havent seen you in a while" hi.

You mean, I can't go, "he he he he.... boobies!" :|

And Merlin, I know. I'm just saying that I will watch what she does a little more closely. I wasn't expecting her to walk right up next to me.

Heres my 2 cents. 5 dollar value, but i'll give it to you for 2cents cause i'm nice :)

Like chosen said, make eye contact, small smile, but DO NOT look away! If she's interested she'll break the eye contact after a couple seconds and look down usually. This may seem like something insignificant but its VERY important. Just make sure you project a friendly look, not threatening.

Here's what I got to say. Don't beat around the bush and act like a pussy, if you're interested, go up to her. If she's interested in you she won't think you're a weirdo and she'll be flattered, if she thinks you're a weirdo it's not because of your approach but it's because she thinks you're a weirdo. You either got it or you don't.

Hmmm, well an update on this one.

Well, I've been going to my new, favorite haunt, and I've run into her both Monday and today. I think I'm going to introduce myself to her tomorrow--hopefully she'll be there--, and just see where things go. She is at least intelligent--if not educated--, so that's a definite plus. Also, she is also really cute and clean (before you ask, yes, I know plenty of dirty women), and though I haven't walked up and sniffed her yet, I'm sure she smells good too. :P

Seriously, though, I heard one of her co-workers talk to her today, and I almost busted out laughing. She has the same name as a very close friend of mine. :heh: If nothing else, it might be a nice icebreaker.

Well, an update on this one.

She's been pulling a disappearing act of sorts lately, but I was finally able to introduce myself to her on Friday. I would have invited her to watch some really bad horror movies with my roommate and I, but I figured that I would keep it more of just a guy thing.

Anyway, as far as the vibes I was getting from her: I get the feeling that she is curious about me, but I don't think that that is quite the same thing as being interested in me. I really get the feeling that she is either with someone, or she is one of those women that you have to win over slowly before she even considers any sort of romantic encounter.

Either way, it's all good. I'm just gonna keep doing what I've been doing.

BTW, she looks really, really, REALLY good in tight jeans. ;)
