I agree 100%.....the only thing that would be funnier is if the Yankees go to the series and we see Kerry Wood hit **Roger Clemens** in the head with a 98 mph fastball....that would make my day.

Yeah, that would be hilarious  . . . watching a 72 year old man die.
Are you human?

my bad...I meant to say Roger Clemens....I actually kinda like the Zimm from his days with the Cubbies, but he did attack Pedro so it was self defense.

Poor Zimmer, although he did bring it on himself. Still a scrapper at that age is pretty funny.

sure looked like pedro went after him...
he leaves the dug out and walks straight at him...

I am pretty sure they were in front of the Boston dugout when it happened, or else Pedro would have gotten stomped like a bug. If so then that means Zimmer came all the way over to Pedro, which means he is not innocent in the event. Either way it was a embarrasment to Baseball and both their faults.

Well that was definitely one of the sweetest wins I've ever experienced between the Yanks and Sox.
Was great just to see Clemens beat Martinez . . . but with all the other drama . . . made it allllll the sweeter!

Zim ran at Pedro because he was protecting his players. Zim was knocked into a coma for a week or two when he was a player because he was hit in the head with a pitch . . .
In the top half of the inning, Pedro was pointing into the dugout and saying he would hit people in the head . . . that really got at Zim . . . as it should have . . . no professional should be threatening to hit people in the head with a potentially career ending pitch (or worse).
Pedro is an A**hole . . . I used to respect him . . . now, I think he is a complete jackass.

Butch, I'm gonna have to agree with you on this one. I definitely lost some respect for Pedro today. If he was the bigger man(or maybe just a man) he would have just kept Zimmer away or moved away from him. Granted I do think Zimmer brought it on himself but still, you gotta just do something to keep yourself out of that situation.
Pedro is a great pitcher, but he's not a role model that's for sure.

Pedro's teammates should kick his ass for putting them in a situation where the Rocket was likely to plunk them...
I agree that Zimmer brought it on himself, but you've got to keep in mind that this is a guy whose career was ended by a fastball to the head...surefire way to push his buttons. No professional athlete who considers himself a man would take pleasure in throwing a 72 year-old man to the ground, even if he did "deserve" it...
Pedro and Manny have a rep as being two of the biggest punks in baseball--they sure proved it tonight...:disa:
Good Lord, I can't believe I'm defending the Yankees... :puke:

:stupid: The pitch was not even close. H. Reynolds did a nice analysis of that at bat later on and showed how Manny was frozen on every pitch that was thrown. Clearly the whole situation was in his head.
As for Pedro...He did a lot of things wrong in that game but Zimmer was not one of them. All he did was step aside and push him down. He did not hit him or anything like that.
And as for taunting the dugout and indicating that you're gonna plunk someone in the ear, if that's not asking for a fight then I don't know what is.
And WTF was with that bit of drama in the bullpen at the end of the game. A stadium employee gets into a fight with the entire bullpen? I gotta find out what really happened there.
Go Yanks.

F that. I'd of done the same thing Pedro did. Don't matter the age... a man runs up on you where I'm from he gets it or you do.
Zimmer had his fist out and head down. He was charging and Pedro did the matadore thing and tossed his old ass. It wasn't like Rocky, Pedro was just walking toward the diamond. What the hell was poppin off in old zimmers head? "I'll teach that young whippersnatcher a lessoon." ????!?!? He embarrassed himself and the organization.
I'm an L.A. person and dislike both cities but would like to see the sox get theirs.
BTW, I knew it was gonna happen.... we were all watching and I was like they hate each other and both pitchers are headhunters.. Clemmons to piazza... don't leave til it's over.
