View Full Version : Athlete's foot...
After my thread on...
How to clean out a shower (http://www.gotapex.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=66759)
tonight I noticed that there's cracked skin between my big toe and 2nd one. At first I thought it was just dry skin, but my mom has had a lot of cracked skin in her feet too, so I thought about that. THEN, I realized how unholy the bathroom I share with this chinese guy can get, and I thought it might be Athlete's foot (or something else?). I thought AF was when your feet burn... after scratching my toes, it DOES kinda burn...
anyone ever had it? should i start wearing shower sandals, or am I just thinking too far into it?

Eeeep... just read this from www.webMD.com

What symptoms are caused by athlete's foot infection?
Athlete's foot infection causes mild to severe itch in the affected area. There are three main types of athlete's foot infection. Each affects different parts of the foot, looks different, and may be treated differently.
Toe web (interdigital) infection. This infection is the most common type of athlete's foot, usually occurring between the fourth and fifth toes. It can range from mild scaling of the skin to more severe breakdown (maceration) of the skin. The fungal infection may also be accompanied by a bacterial infection. Bacteria that are normally present on the skin infect the broken skin. Bacteria may also cause foot odor.

give me whatever one John Madden promotes!! (BOOM! Tough actin' Tinactin)... but first i'd like to see if this has any bearing with anyone's experience with it. I'm many many miles away from a doctor right now, so everyone here is temporarily qualified to give me medical advice!

and whatever you do don't play with your toes and then touch mr. winkie. you don't want some nasty jock itch to add to the problem. :hmm:

pee on your feet when your first get into the shower. it will clear right up.
gam..if that counts as a potty post, feel free to delete.
I've heard of doing that for jelly fish stings, but are you being serious blueindian?
I second the rubbing alcohol suggestion. If you don't wear different shoes from day to day, I'd suggest washing out the insides of your shoes with the alcohol, too.

well seeing that my wife is a doctor and she said to use lamisil... I'll say go with my earlier suggestion
but John Madden is so intelligent! :heh:
Lamisil it is...
Does it matter if your urine is sterile (like anyone's gonna know this one)? Mine's not, think I'm losing white blood cells, but I didn't know if that matters that it's going into an "infection" on my foot.
/me can't believe he's even thinkin about doing this

Yeah athleats foot sucks. I had it once after space camp way back when. Just use the smelly stuff and you should be okay, also shower sandals may be a good idea, plus periodically bleaching the hell out of the shower.
