search your favorite news source if you've not seen it already, or read up here (http://www.cnn.com/2003/SHOWBIZ/10/10/cnna.pinsky/index.html)

won't hurt the size of his following, unfortunately... he never tried to make sense in the first place, he's just good at getting the stupid sub-strata of conservatives all riled up for no good reason. hypocrisy won't bother 'em a bit.

Thanks for the source, even though I trust that source about as much as you trust Fox News... :D I believe what they've quoted is accurate, since it would be pretty easy to disprove.
But I don't buy their contention that this constitutes hypocrisy. Maybe if Rush comes back and whines how he was a victim of his situation, or his doctor, or whatever. I guess one could make the argument that if he does anything to defend himself against charges of illegal drug use, that makes him a hypocrite.

Oh well... personally, I'd hope that this f00lio would go away, but hey, I know some of you feel the same way about folks on the opposite side of the coin... so why bother?
maybe we could put him and sharpton in a room and let them get it on. that would be a good celebrity deathmatch. :D

HE TRIED TO HIDE IT IN THE FIRST PLACE. HE BROKE THE LAW AND TRIED TO GET AWAY WITH IT. HE PUT HIS HOUSEKEEPER ON THE FRONT LINES, HAD HER GET THE PILLS FROM The DEALERS FOR HIM. HYPOCRITE.
sorry, dint know the caps lock was on, i wasn't shouting...
anyway, the only way for him to not be a hypocrite would have been to volunteer himself for jail time for fueling the ILLEGAL drug trade.

hahahahahaha
i was relating this thread to prm... and his take is this:
rush isn't a hypocrite. to be a hypocrite, you have to say stuff that actually means something instead of just running your mouth with a bunch of inflammatory crap all the time.

there's crazies everywhere. every celebrity has a fanatic following. it's nothing that is specific to people like rush.

it's VERY specific to people like rush. rush limbaugh spouts a bunch of poorly-thought-out pseudo-arguments that rarely stand up to reason, yet are witty and memorable. he attracts a LOT more idiots in his following than, say, mother teresa.

sticking to political celebrities, then...
idiots attract idiots. smart people don't slavishly follow those who spout idiocy. rush spouts idiocy.

sigh....the only reason i even posted was because topane stated that rush could eat live babies on his show and it wouldn't bother them too much and i wanted to make sure he was kidding.

i never was a fan of Rush and his big mouth, but i think he proved with this admitted painkiller addiction that he is human.

Rush isn't the first person to learn it's a lot easier to preach a hard line than it is to actually live it.
He won't be the last, either.

I put him in the same category as Howard Stern: Opinionated, loud and creepy.
I don't understand why he couldn't get decent painkillers legally for his condition, though.
I have had two herniated discs in my neck for 12 years. Three times, neurosurgeons told me that I definitely had to have surgery. Thank God for chiropractors, drugs and stretching devices.

Wow, I agree with you 100%. I was about to mention Howard Stern. But I think the reason he couldn't get the pills legally was he was getting stuff in larger amounts and variety than prescribed. Can't refill your prescription everyday.:D

Rush quotes:
"We're going to let you destroy your life. We're going to make it easy and then all of us who accept the responsibilities of life and don't destroy our lives on drugs, we'll pay for whatever messes you get into." -- Rush Limbaugh show, Dec. 9, 1993
"I'm appalled at people who simply want to look at all this abhorrent behavior and say people are going to do drugs anyway let's legalize it. It's a dumb idea. It's a rotten idea and those who are for it are purely 100 percent selfish." -- Rush Limbaugh show, Dec 9, 1993
"If (Surgeon General Jocelyn Elders) wants to legalize drugs, send the people who want to do drugs to London and Zurich, and let's be rid of them." -- Rush Limbaugh show, Dec 9, 1993
"There's nothing good about drug use. We know it. It destroys individuals. It destroys families. Drug use destroys societies. Drug use, some might say, is destroying this country. And we have laws against selling drugs, pushing drugs, using drugs, importing drugs. And the laws are good because we know what happens to people in societies and neighborhoods which become consumed by them. And so if people are violating the law by doing drugs, they ought to be accused and they ought to be convicted and they ought to be sent up.
"What this says to me is that too many whites are getting away with drug use. Too many whites are getting away with drug sales. Too many whites are getting away with trafficking in this stuff. The answer to this disparity is not to start letting people out of jail because we're not putting others in jail who are breaking the law. The answer is to go out and find the ones who are getting away with it, convict them and send them up the river, too." -- Rush Limbaugh show, Oct. 5, 1995
The last one is a doozy!

eesh. it's really amazing how little the medical establishment can do for spinal problems. i have a disc in the lumbar or sacral region that is pretty consistently effed up... and i know surgery isn't the answer. actually, statistically, physical therapy, surgery, chiropractic care, and doing nothing all have the same effect. eeeeesh. i have very little faith in chiropractors in general, but when i was limping for 6 months and had tried everything else (except surgery), it was a chiropractor that got me back to normal. the MD i went to just kept throwing coedeine at me  jackass.
