I'm so sick of this.
He wasn't the only dumbass reaching for the ball. It's not his fault the cubs sucked up their 8th innning. (The cubs are extremely simpathetic to the poor guy.)
It's certainly not his fault if they botch game 7.
The poor guy didn't even show up to work today because he feels terrible. The least the media outlets (his employer included) could do was downplay the issue. He's a die hard fan that got caught up in the moment. Let it go and leave the poor guy alone.
Go pick on the star wars kid.

AGain you can't put the blaim on one fan. They cubbies sucked in the 8th and blew it themselves. What about hte missed double play?

You'd have more time and wouldn't be trying to rush to get a double play if there were two outs.... :D

On the radio they (Dan Patrick) interviewed a fireman who was standing beside cubbie guy and HE dove for the ball as well. He said a bunch of people dove for the ball and that's instinct.
Someone told me that they're reporting that his firehouse got a bunch of hatemail already...geez Sports fans can be real *******S.

That is some of the funniest sports footage I've seen in a while, I was in stiches when I saw it for the first time.
blah blah blah caught up in the moment. Bull. You see your team's player coming in to make a play, you back the heck off. Especially in the playoffs. It's sad to think that many of the fans in that section wanted to grab the foul fly ball--opting for a souvenier instead of giving their team the best chance to win the game. If the fielder doesn't make the play and the ball comes to you, awesome. But there's no way you should be reaching for the ball if the fielder is anywhere close.

His eyes, like the fielders and the other 15 fans, were on the ball. It's not like the fielder hasn't had to fight the crowd before. Geez, man, let it go. The cubs blew that game, not one poor guy in the stands.

He probably moves to Florida and be a hero if the Marlins win game 7. Right now the Cubs are up 5-3 in the 3rd inning.

Florida Gov. Jeb Bush reportedly said asylum would be a good idea for Bartman. An oceanfront retreat in Pompano Beach offered him a free three-month stay if he needed to leave Chicago for awhile.

If this guy gets harassed (which he will) then it just worsen the image of Baseball (pretty low for me) and the Chicago fans as well.... so are there riots in Chicago?
