I have a C&R license, and just ordered a VZ-24. But I have not been able to go to the range yet, because I could find any 8mm ammo that is not corrosive...:(

Now I'm planning to buy a Mosin Nagant M91/30 or M44. These are very cheap and there are plenty of 7.62X54R non-corrosive ammo available.
But I have to get permission from the BOSS a.k.a wife first....:D
