ok, my family just had one of the worst experiece at lowe's.

here's the timeline of what happened. (this is an excerpt from the complaint letter i'm drafting)
1) June 23, 2003 ˇV Our family went into your store to special order two bathtubs. A nice salesman by the name of James took our order and told us no problem.
2) About two weeks later, I called to find out the status of our order. A store manager by the name of Alex told us that James no longer worked there, and there was no order put in for the tubs. I requested one at that moment, and Alex complied.
3) Two MORE weeks later, I called for the status once again. And Alex informed us that they still have not ordered it. I firmly requested an order once again.
4) Around the beginning of August, I discovered that the tub STILL has not been ordered. When I went to the store, Alex called another manager, and they had a little fight about whose fault it was. I didnˇ¦t care, I simply wanted the tubs. (almost one and a half month have passed)
5) mid-August ˇV the two tubs finally arrived. However, turns out one of the tubs had a hole in it. We immediately requested a new one.
6) Sept 15 ˇV the new tub arrived, and it turns out that the walls (panels around the new tub) were broken as well!
7) Sept 22 ˇV We called to complain once more, and found out that no one has even bothered to order the new walls. One of the other managers, Sara, told us that it would be handled.
8) Sept 25 ˇV we received a call telling us that the walls have finally been orderedˇKnot that theyˇ¦ve arrived, but simply that theyˇ¦ve been ordered!
9) October 11, the long awaited walls arriveˇKor so I thought. It turns out to be ANOTHER TUB! Now I am told that I have to wait until November!
*******

Lowes is notorious in my area for not hiring the most personable staff..while the idea of self installing is great-you know..saving money etc..Lowes caters to contractors..have a contractor put the order in for you-Lowes is afraid of loosing contractor sales which is about 79% of their entire gross intake for their budgets..(my brother in law is a store manager there..) They literally do some ass kissing with these plumbers, carpenters..

There was nowhere else you could order these tubs?
I think after the 2nd time they didnt order em...I would have looked elsewhere.
That just sucks!!

You could have just told them that Home Depot probably gives better service than they do. They'd(Lowes) have been right on it for you then...

Mrs. Kevster and I had a similiar crappy service experience from Expo Design Center (ala Home Depot). It took them 5 1/2 months and three installations to get the correct curtains we ordered. The first time it was the wrong color/fabric, the second time it was the wrong length and finally the 3rd time was the charm. Mrs. Kevster was only a little pissed about the whole thing and wrote a very polite nastygram to Expo Design Center.
