I would just like to say Honda Service sucks. Everytime I take my car in for service they take double to triple the time they say they will, and even though I request a car wash, they never wash it. I guess this is what I get for taking my car in to the dealer for mantainence. =(
Just want to warn everyone not to take their car to HONDA (esp. the ones in southern Cali)!! I'm finally wising up.

I don't know...I have a Honda Civic with many many mods on it - very few having anything to do with performance. My intention was never to make the car look fast...just thought they added a little to its overall appearance.

Can't speak for anyone else though...

So that would be considered Rice to a lot of people than.

I personally don't like the Rice term. I actally like to see people's cars with unique wings and skirts. Even if they don't have the power to back it up. The only mods I did to the teg were for performance boosts. But if I had the money, I would've bought some physical appearance mods too.

I guess I hate Hondas because they are the ultimate target for rice rocketry. Some of these things are getting crazy ridiculous!

Anyways, I LOVE Hondas ... but would never bring it back to the dealer for servicing. If you like to bring it back to the Manufacturer, maybe you can try bringing it to an Acura dealer. I heard they have much better service. And they should know your car rather well.

Yes that is basically what rice is other then the stuff we all love to eat http://www.gotapex.com/ubb/wink.gif
usually it is when a car is painted with stickers that should not be there http://www.gotapex.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Yeah, I have a friend that works at a Toyota dealership, and ALWAYS services his cars at the Lexus place. They'll do it, so I can only assume Acura will. I've also heard of Passat's sitting in Audi workrooms, too.

Look, here's my take on it:

Appearance mods irk me just because a) when you take into account how much they spend, on a depreciating asset I might add, they could get a way nicer car. b) People make the argument that they look individual. Well, if I was singularly ugly, I wouldn't exactly brag about it. Some of these things are just straight wacky: gigantic wings on civics? Who the hell are they fooling? I know your car doesn't go fast; you do too (I hope: one guy I heard claimed his wing "added 5hp and 10 mph http://www.gotapex.com/ubb/rolleyes.gif )
c) I think its kind of a manifestation of appearance over substance. We are very preoccupied with looks in our society, often to the point of ignoring what's under the hood, so to speak. I'm not sure I like that.
d) Some are straight-up, ass-out, absolutely butt fugly. FMI, www.riceboypages.com. (http://www.riceboypages.com.)

This topic has veered off to how stylish people can make their cars. Basically I want to reiterate that Honda service sucks, so no one go there to service their car!

It's a sad, sad word when we start to compete for how many posts we can rack up in this joint.

I honestly wasn't trying to get posts, but I guess those were two cheap ones...oh, hold on, counting this one, three.

yup I don't think it's just Honda service that sucks cuz I own an Escort(well it sucks already) but through my experience in dealing with the dealership I've learned not to rely on them. For one thing I think they charge crazy prices and plus it seeems they always hold your car much, much longer then they really have to. All I know is never to take my car to be serviced at a dealership and never to invest in an Escort.

Well Said, Brown!

So does everyone agree that I should just take my car to a gas station or auto maintenance place (not dealership) from now on?

Heh, in my view rice racers are pointless. But I guess they do give me a good laugh on the road to relieve some road rage http://www.gotapex.com/ubb/biggrin.gif. But seriously, whats the point of making your car look faster when my burly Jeep Grand Cherokee will outburn them? Hehe, SUV Rice Racer. . . Hmmmm. . . Naw.

HOnda service may suck , but the cars are reliable and economically affordable...so that is a trade off worth giving up. http://www.gotapex.com/ubb/smile.gif

I used to love Hondas..until my current Acura (honda w/ DOHC) blew out its distributor. I might love Hondas again in a few months...but for now...ARGH!
