The comparison of the U.S. to Rome isn't too far fetched, in that the U.S. is the dominating force of this world at the moment and our culture infiltrates every other culture to a certain degree - we are the biggest produce of entertainment worldwide. Of course there are many other examples.
The idea though that the U.S. is on the decline is preposterous. Every empire must eventually fall, as far as history is concerned, but I just don't see this country in that position. We have just secured the second largest oil producing country, we have a variety of third world countries financially dependent on us and although other ally nations disagree with our foreign actions, none of them have stopped doing business with us. I could see this going on for centuries...as long as we don't get suitcased nuked!
Anyone see "reindeer games?"

No kidding goyo. If Bush wins the next election, it won't be long before the US rules the world. I say we go for France next!
By the way, when did it become popular to bash the US? I usually think of bandwagon meaning the popular thing to do
