WEll the past few dayss ahve been offly strange. I think we ahve ghosts, or a ghost. My wife has heard tapping coming from the cupboards in the kitchen and random piano music. I have had something disappear and show up in a complete strange place where i never would have put it. I have seen something move on its own, and have heard piano music also. Also last night both of our sink faucets and the boathtub faucet all turned themselves on at the same time. stange stuff, bit unsettling.

puh-leez. perfectly reasonable explanation for all of that. the cupboard tapping is the cockroaches. the disappearing reappearing stuff is a disgruntled tooth fairy gone bad. the water is just leaky faucets that you'd rather blame on ghosts than replace, ya lazy bum... and trying to pass off your farting as "random piano music" is... well... not very convincing. i think your wife is just nodding and smiling when you suggest it because she is a very kind lady...

anyway, hopefully they remain minor nuisances... leave 'em christmas cookies and stay on their good side!

dont know much about ghosts but htey ahve been mostly friendly
found some info about them and i guess the usually show up on thier birthday, and oddly enough it has been progressivly worse the past 3-4 days, and today is my wife grandfathers birthday,. maybe an eplanation, maybe not, guess i shouldnt ahve thrown those tomatoes at sylvia brown hey???

I was just told recently that a friend of mines bought a really nice sofa chair at an estate sale. After they got it home some strange things started happening at their house. The lights would mysteriously turn on by themselves. Freaky! They got rid of it after a week and the lights stopped turning on by themselves.

more strange stuff, things moving on thier own, left home in the morning and left something on the bed, came home and it was on top of the TV <saturday> and more loud tapping from under the kitchen table when noone is anywhere even near it <yesterday> and today our fan started spinning on its own starting and stopping without it being turned on or the motor running (aka phantom draft)

the ghost has been completly friendly and no malicious stuff has happened

Have you guys seen the St. Francisville Experiment? It's a movie that came out shortly after the Blair Witch Project. The concept of the experiment is to send 4 young adults into a haunted house in Louisiana with recording equipment to see what they can find. I can see why the movie would scare many people, but to me, it was just silly.

Here's what you can do :) Put something on the bed again or wherever, then set up one of them funky webcams that start recording once it detects motion.

Leave for the weekend .. Then post the vid! :D (1) You'll have freakiness caught on tape and (2) if someone's screwing with you, you can catch them on tape :)

Is this a new for you house...did you buy it?! I usually don't worry about ghosts, but on the other hand like I'm not going to invite anything into my life like that...like by using an ouiji boad or something. I know it sounds corny, but some holy water in the corners couldn't hurt, if you're catholic, invite a priest over to bless the place, (while the kids are at school!) My uncle had a Native American guy come over and burn sage in his house to cleanse it before he moved in. Anyways, there's lots of things you can do to make these ghosts find another place to kick it.

Hmm... do you have a piano in your place and does the random piano sounds sound like it is from there (are they music or just random sound, loud or soft) I had a run in with something wierd...
I use to live in this old old house near the school and one night I was alone in the house. I would say I have only been living there for a couple of months at most. I was chating, playing games or whatever and wanted to take a bathroom break, so then I walked out, I saw the light in the room next to mine being on. I went in (it is my roommate's room) to see if he was there. He wasn't so I just left for the bathroom then when I came back it was off. I didn't think much of it as I thought someone closed it or I closed it, but then it hit me after my housemate came back. I told him what happened and then remembered that the light never worked as the wiring was still not finished and the light could not be turned on....

nope its accually an apartment, and the music is just kinda random, we do not ahve a piano. the instances seem to be lessening. some soft rapping and some clinking dishes but thats about all. but last nihgt i didnt get home till 12:00 and went almsot straight to bed and ahve been home since 6 am so i ahvent spent much time there

two nihgt ago the stero/alarm clock turn its self on at 909 pm
the thing is, is it was set for 6am right, went off 909pm, went in to look at it, the alarm time said 909, turned around to talk to my wife for 2 seconds <literally> turned back and it was back to 6am, also it was set for beep beep beep and it came on at 909 iwht the radio.
nothing at all happened last night
maybe its gone

ahhhh my god im going crazy

okay, update.

we had nothing that we know about happen on wednesday, but yesterday the calander moved itself from october to march.

this morning when we woke up we found a whole bunch of things moved around

we ahve these two very large teddy bears, bout 3 ft tall, anywyaz both of them were sitting at the kitchen table with thier arms on the table holding root beer bottles, that was the major things, and we ahd four other smaller items moved around.
i have a pic of the root beer bears, il prob post it tomorow.

dude, something like this just happened to my friend nodamnsense...

he came home last night and found all the stuff in his medicine cabinet turned upsidedown, and some magnetic poetry had moved to say some strange stuff, and there were empty beer bottles in the garbage and some unopened ones in the fridge, and some potted plants were moved...

we figured out what happened, tho. turns out prm and i just broke in to his place via an unlocked porch door and hung out for an hour.

you sure you don't just have friends with an equally tasteless sense of humor? if so, beware... we had sex in his kitchen while we were there. stuff like that is awfully funny after a few beers... ;)

So.. Coincidentally.. We have just recently been having some of the Same problems in my Apartment... First off..

My roommate came in one day.. and said "I think we have ghosts.. The other night I heard this girl moaning .. " Well... we wrote that off as .. "It was probably just one of us watching porn" but .. he swore it wasnt that ..

The next thing was.. right after I had first moved in a couple of weeks ago.. my Ex came over.. and was looking around .. and when the lights in my room were off she said "You should get some of those little plastic glow in the dark stars and put them on the ceiling" .. I was just like "Whatever"... then she came back the other night.. and I walked in my room with the light off.. and happened to look up and notice there were stars on my ceiling that I KNOW werent there before...

Other wierd things.. I had a female friend visiting from Florida.. staying for three nights.. that just left... well.. what was wierd was.. We would watch a DVD movie.. like.. Old School and we also watched Serendipidy or however its spelled.. and watched them all the way through.. no problems.. with another visiting friend in the room... But... then we went to watch a movie after she left.. and slowly.. we started messing around.. and then more.. etc etc.. you know the rest.. well.. my DVD player turned off on its on.. and then about 10 seconds later.. my tv turned itself off.. and im Positive it wasnt us on the remotes.. or anyone else with remotes.. cause They were sitting on my floor.. that happened in two movies.. With Honors.. being one of them..

So.. anyhow.. I told my ex if she is going to come over and say something needs to change.. she needs to be saying "You should have Thousands of Dollars in your Closet.. " :) we'll see if that works..

It seems like these are rather nice supernatural beings.. which is a good thing.. I dont mind them here as long as we get along :) ..

dvd players and vcrs can decide to turn themselves on and off... that does NOT have to be ghosts. if a dvd or tape is a little dirty, or stuck in a little funny, it can mess with the receptors in the thing and it has trouble deciding if it should be on or off... it's on the edge, and then an air current shifts and it changes its mind. happens especially with cheap players.

the tv turning on and off is a bit harder to accomplish, tho, unless it is linked to the dvd player in such a way that it would turn itself on when the player turns on (we have a tv that is set up to turn itself on when a tape is popped in.)

another update

well nothing for almost two days and then last night more banging, and when we got up this morning there was a bottle <the 5 gal kind from a office water cooler> in the middle of my living room with my basketball balanced on the rim. both ball and bottle were in seperate rooms. ball was in the bedroom where i was sleeping. so the damn thing had to float right by me when i was out

well most of the stuf has started happening overnight while we are sleeping since we tried to become more aware of it. this "ghost" dosent want to be caught from what i can tell. at first it was ll during the daytime and we started paying mroe and more attention, now its more reserved and almost always when we are sleeping, except for the music and the banging/tapping/rapping
it would be pointless to do that while we are sleeping becuase we wouldnt hear it, but otehr then that eerything happenes when we are asleep

dont ahve a motion capture camera, have a camcorder but only a 90 min tape so it would be useless

Did that for work. Someone was taking things straight off the truck and out the back door. So Co mgr came to me to help set up a camera. Set it up in a box with a sign that said "don't touch waiting on RA per Mgr so and so" and there it sat for a week capturing everything that went in and out of the 5 doors in the warehouse. She got what she wanted and more :hmm:

My suggestion is to get either a chalk board or a dry erase board and write "Hello" or "Who are you" on it. Then leave the marker or the chalk out in the open somewhere else in the house. YOu might actually get a response. If its a true ghost, that of a deceased person, it will probably right its name. This way you can get its name and then ask it to leave. If its a poltergeist, which are just fun loving but sometimes malevonent spirits, they generally cant tell you any name, and are generally harder to get to leave.

Have you ever tried to leave your computer on at night when no one is there in the word processing program? Some ghosts have been known to leave messages like that.

As some have mentioned, leave your camera connected to the your vcr recording while you are sleeping. See if anything comes up. Other things to try are leaving a polaroid camera out there and see if when you wake up any pictures have been taken.

Other tests would be to leave flour on the ground to see if any marks are left. Do it at night after the lights are off so no one could see it. Move your furniture around so that if someone is using a key to mess with you that they would theoretically walk into the moved furniture.

You can get someone to cleanse your apartment of the spirits. Native americans have ceremonies using sage and incantations. Priest have ceremonies using holy water and incantations. Jewish mothers have chicken soup and complaining. (Kidding on the last one)

Move you child into the bedroom with you at night so as keep a better eye on him. Lots of ghosts focus on children because children can sense them or see them. Plus this way if there are any noises you know that its not because of your child. Just some suggestions to try.

mrs squirrel again-- sooooooooo much happened last night but i'll let the real squirrel tell ya later.. one significant thing is that we left our digi camera in our kids room at night while he was falling asleep and went to move it out later at night and a pic had been taken around 8 pm.. everything is orange but there's nothing orange in his room and we didn't take it. And i doubt our one year old can operate a digicam in his sleep, so don't even say it. :P

I already thought of that Welfare...

First experiment.. I turned on both the DVD player and the TV.. and recreated the scenario with a movie playing..

Turned off the DVD player and let the TV stay on.. to see if it would shut itself off after losing the signal and sitting on the AUX channel... it didnt...

it happened two days in a row.. where the DVD player shut off.. and then the TV about 2 seconds or so later.. (not at the same time.. cause it takes time for the ghost to move from one to the other..) ...

I cant get it to recreate... I figured MAYBE overheating.. but thats not it .. I tried leaving them on for a day.. they had no problems... it only seems to happen when im fooling around on the bed.. and the Remotes were both on the floor..

here is the laundry list of what all happened yesterday.

1 i already told you about the waterbottle and basketball thing
2 really loud bang from inside my sons room, door was closed and it came from inside, went to investigate right away and he was asleep across the room.
3 while i was in his room there was another loud bang from the kitchen table, the force of it caused a empty pop can to fall over
4 a coaster moved to a wall shelf, where it would never normally be
5 the was a loud scrapping sound coming from the hallway to the living room where i was, sounded like something was getting drug across the wall getting closer and closer to where i was nad then it stopped right before it turned the corner into the living room <this one was really scary, and the cat was really spooked, ears up, tail poofed, back hair up, ready to pounch>
6 my cowboy hat was moved from the closet to on top on the bedroom TV
7 we have our camcorder sitting on one of the high shelves of our entertainment center. next to its spot there sits a beanie baby pandox <looks like a fox but is supposedly a [panda so we call it a pandox> it was moved over a little so it was sitting on top of the camcorder, my wife moved it back to its orgional spot and we both went into the kitchen together to get a couple sodas, came back out together and it was back on top of the camcorder. we weere in teh kithen less then one minute.
8 my son has a cargo net in his room, hanging from the celing, full of stuffed animals, including the one i bought for him the day he was born, a small stuffed lion that spent several night with him when he was really young, was a favorite of his. anywyaz it was moved to his bed with him, here is absoutly no way possible that he could have gotten it on his own.

and this morning my wifes wedding ring was moved from our room in the jewelry chest to my sons room on the cabinet


i tell you what things are getting really scary round my place and im getting sick of it.

ya know i have speculated the exact same thing, to the best of my knowledge, it only happens when hes alseep.

geez i just thouht of one more thing that happened last night.

we have this creepy halloween decoration that is a skeleton dude in a long robe, motion activate, screams happy halloween and laughs and vibrates and lights up, anyways the hood of the robe was stapled really well to his head. it was sitting on my kitchen table and somehow whe i was in theliving room it turned to face me instead of facing thekitchen and the hood was pulled down to expose his entire nasty skull

I was talking to my neighbor across the street this afternoon. She looks at a squirrel in her driveway and yells over to me that it has a plastic cup in it's mouth. It looked really funny.

more stuff has ben moveda round- another stuffed aminal from the net in the kid's room came down on its own and put itself on top of the nursery lamp in his romo.

anyway, just wanted to say I heard Sylvia Brown once say (she is a medium) that if you tell a ghost to to away, that it is not welcome in your home, it should go away... if its friendly. if not, you may have a problem, try it, it just may work, good luck!

nothing has happened since last wednesday, we had something move that morning and my wife got home later that day with some paranormal books and a sylvia brown book and a john edwards book. we learned a lot from them, nad the ghost just kinda seemed to go away. either that or it is saving up its energy for a big hit either way we are enjoying a small reprieve

What does believing ain an after-life have to do with believing in poltergeists and visitors from other worlds? But to answer your question, I'd say that when it coems to afterlife my guess is as good as anyone elses and when it comes to aliens no, I do not believe aliens have ever visited earth. There is almost certainly life somewhere else out there in the vast universe, but I have no doubt that no outside intelligent life has visited earth.

A lack of negative evidence does necessitate existence either. And since my claim is the status quo scientifically and the ghost believer is teh one making the radical hypothesis the burden of proof lies with the ghost believer, not me. Particles smaller than molecules always existed, we just hadnt had the correct mathematics or optics to prove their existence yet.

The difference between ghosts and atoms is this, eventually science could prove or disprove whether or not atoms exist whereas science will never be able to prove whether or not ghosts exist. Therefore ghosts are out of the realm of science and lie purely in realm of blind faith or wishful thinking.

well folks ghosties are back. not sure if it's the same one or what.. but we were gone for about 8 hours yesterday and came home and found a bunch of black scuff marks on the wall (you know, like from a dark sneaker on a tile floor). It was CREEPY. and the heat turns itself all the way up and when we are in the shower the faucet turns itself either all the way hot or all the way cold.
And then so i went to ask the apt manager if they know anything about any of this because they did plumbing work in the building recently and keyed into everybody's apts and they kinda looked at me like i was loco. Seriously loco. Well we'll see what comes from that (prolly absolutely nuttin!) but... and it is a major pain to try and clean them darn scuff marks off the wall. just thought i'd drop an update.

i think we have two ghosts
the orgional one who got done what he needed and left, then a meanone came through, then the origional one came back to watch over us

we ahve had a few bad things happen, then they stopped and we ahve been finding gifts
we found what we believe to be a diamond <getting it tested tonight>
and a brand new shinny penny with a dove stamped out of the center

diamond looks huge though
good clarity ,nice cut and looks to be about 3/4 crt

Turn off the breaker when you leave....that will stop whatever it is from turing on the heat and all the lights. To check if its really man or spirit add a lock to the breaker box with a key that only you and Mrs. Squirrel have. Since a code lock could theoretically be watched by someone or something and then used to open it. You can buy hinged devices that allow you to lock cabinets that will screw into the drywall and then the door. When you are home, unlock it incase of emergency.

A spirit could get into the box without a key and turn it on. A man would have to rip it out of the wall. Just an idea. Carry a flashlight with you to open the box and turn the breaker back on while the Mrs. stays out in the hall.

my wife and I have had this itch lately to play scrabble
so a few days ago we went out and bought a scrabble game and were playing it the next night

oh yeah also..... i tired the video camera thing arfer the scrabble insident.
we put who are you on the scrabble board and left the rest of the letters off to the side
turn on the video camera ran it through the vcr to a 12 hr tape planning to record while we were sleeping. we stayed awake for about an hour after we strted recording, and in that time the video camera physically shut its self off 4 times. not just into a standby mode, the switch was move from reocrder to off.

guess he/she is camera shy. nothing turned up on the tape.

also that message could mean it didn't do that. I hear ghosts stay around cause they have some unfinished business. perhaps it wants you to go after the person that got it.
