So according to tax law....errrr.....whatever.... property tax refund claims must be postmarked by April 15 just like normal tax returns, but you dont get your refund until the first week of august.
well we never mailed ours out, and were cleaning out a drawr at the end of August and found the envelope stamped and ready to go, it was just set aside and neer mailed. Just for the hell of it we dropped in the mailbox 5 months late.....and..... holy crap...... we got our refund a few days ago.....i guess the goverment deserves a bit more credit.

Something similar just happened to me. I must have misplaced a head tax bill for $10. I got a notice last week that it was never received. The late penalty plus the tax totalled $32. :rolleyes:
