I was watching some of the Lions-Cowboys game yesterday - the Lions were getting whooped pretty bad in the third quarter (i.e. time of possession was 1 minute compared to 11 for Dallas).
At one point, the crowd started booing after a quick 3 and out. One of the commentators (I don't know what his name was) said: "Man, lions haven't been under attack this much since Siegfried and Roy!"
One of the other commentators responded by saying, "Oh, man!" as if he was totally shocked by this comment. There was a long awkward silence until the next play began, as if no one knew what to say!
Not only was this comment unnecessary, it was also inaccurate because Siegfried and Roy work with tigers and not lions.
