I opened this thread for everyone.
Here is the situation : I purchased 900 stamps (these are packaged with plastic wrappers on them) from the USPS (United States Postal Service owned by the government) for $297 on my credit card several days ago. About 2 days later I decided to return them because I've found out that I could just fax my stuff. So therefore I've saved $297. NOTE : I have NOT opened any of these packaged stamps at all. When I tried to return them to the person that sold them to me at the USPS with my original receipt, they could NOT be returned !!!! The USPS computer system is NOT designed to make refunds !!!! Next, I called my local Consumers Affairs Office & they told me that there is nothing they could do for me to get my money back since they are stamps (REMEMBER I HAVE NOT OPENED ANY OF THEM !!!). As my last resort I called my credit card company to have this resolve and they could NOT do any thing about it because the USPS freaking computer does NOT know how to refund back to my credit card. To me I think that the freaking government did this on purpose. Why ?
- Make money by taking people's money
& not knowing how to refund anybody's
money even if they had to return them
for any reason.
Again, I posted my situation as a consumer alert for anyone who plans to buy anything (NOT only stamps, but also other things that they also sell too) from the freaking USPS.
Now that I have 900 stamps, the next time I'm stepping inside another USPS will be 20 years from now and by then the cost of stamps will be probably $10 each to send out a letter. USPS sucks !!! Any ideas ?

What in the heck did you need 900 stamps for in the first place?

Your stamps are like cash so you can always sell on them on Ebay. You'll probably lose some money but it's better than being stuck with 900 stamps.

And WHY did you want to return them?
Did you suddenly discover estamp, epostage?

My guess is you saw some cute chick in line, checked your wallet and said to yourself "what kind of a guy would she think I was if I unloaded $300 on nearly 1000 stamps?"

"May I help you" "Yes, I'd like ONE MILLION of your stamps...(followed by, in the softests of tones) oh, and could I get a receipt with that?

You should change your name to Stampy, or try and mail yourself somewhere, or both.

Anybody notice this has nothing to do with deals, and a topic with an improper title?

Yep no refunds for stamps for any reason. They are treated just like cash, the government will not take them back. Heck with 900 stamps you may be able to mail yourself to Apex's Pizza party from anywhere in the country. http://www.gotapex.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

The USPS is NOT "owned" by the US government . . . so don't start going off on the US government . . . and what you bought is basically "cash" . . . hell, I even used stamps to PAY for things when I was younger and on an allowance . . . haha. Don't expect a refund. It's not going to happen . . . and quit whining . . . there was no discount for buying in it bulk, so why did you do it?? Try being a smart consumer.
