View Full Version : Crow's feet and other indignities: reflections on turning 23

Well, on August 14 (exactly 30 minutes where I am) I will turn 23. I have lots of gray hair. I think I see the beginnings of frown lines, but I'm not sure. And my knees crack when I bend down. Does anyone else my age have this or am I aging prematurely? I think I'll just stay in bed tomorrow. Ugh.

Thanks, Hapoo. Good to know I'm not the only one who cracks when I move. http://www.gotapex.com/ubb/smile.gif

i guess its my own fault though, I have a bad habit of cracking my bones myself.

Well, I'm 22.5 and sometimes my bones crack. I don't have any grey hairs, though. That seems unusual for 23.
Don't worry bout it. You are 23... that is YOUNG. The life expectancy is going up every year.

Grey hairs are not unusual for a sub-25 year old. I have tons, and I'm "only" 22. My body feels like crap on a daily basis. I have a theory that while athletics are supposed to keep you in shape, athletics at an early age actualy contributes to feeling really poor when you get older. All my friends that I used to be on teams with when we were younger all have some sort of physical ailment, be it bad knees, cranky back, or slipped discs.

The grey hair thing I can almost handle. You can always color them. It's those @&*!# fine lines that get me. I'm way too young to have botox injections. Thanks for the birthday wishes, incidentally. I know 23 is young. I'm not sweating that part. And in my family, the life expectancy is disgustingly long. I live with and care for my 92-year old grandmother who is in pretty damned good shape for her age. Still sharp and everything.

92 is way too old for me, i'd be happy to live to 70-75. Life becomes boring after so many years.
