I'm selling a computer and i don't want people to access anything that was on it. is there a good program for erasing the contents of a harddrive?

MaxBlast3 should allow you to write all 0s to the drive. I'm pretty sure that the utility will work on non-Maxtor drives.

Here's a free "wipe" program:

low level format should be good. but i'd feel safe enough with shred or a shred-like utility. in windows i'd use eraser (http://www.tolvanen.com/eraser/).
