View Full Version : Frys Customer Service Blows

Ok, this is getting ridiculous. I don't understand how people can be so good at going out of their way to be rude.
After standing in the front of the will call line - right in front of the counter - in front of three Frys Employees for 20 minutes, you'd think they'd at least say, "Sorry we're busy with something right now", or "Go to another line." Anything would have been better than just standing there cracking jokes letting me wait and wait.
The customer service manager, who happened to be one of those idiots who was staring right through me for 20 minutes I'm sure couldn't have cared less when I was telling him how frustrating it is to be standing in front of three employees for that long and not acknowledged at all. If there is a "How to deal with upset customers for dummies" book out there, this guy has memorized every line in it. I may as well been talking to a machine.
And to top it all off, when I finally received the item I was supposed to pick up, I found out that the 7200 RPM harddrive I had ordered had mysteriously transformed into one that runs at 5400 RPM.
Maybe my problem is that I value efficiency a bit too much, but I think that place is getting pretty bad. Anyone else have an opinion on this matter?

Dude, that sucks. I also think Fry's sucks the big one. I bought a soundblaster card there a while ago, and when I got that puppy home, I opened it up to find it had already been opened and that it had its manual and disks taken out. This really pissed me off because it takes 1:30 to 2:00 to get to fry's!

I guess you should have asked around before buying something, because Fry's is absolutely NOTORIOUS in Southern Cal for their customer (snicker) service. Yup, Fry's may seem cheap, but you sort of get what you pay for. I've resolved to spend the extra 1% that they usually discount from other discount places like Good Guys or Best Buy, and just buy elsewhere. Totally unknowledgeable staff, and products are often opened like the last caller, or sometimes even damanged goods are returned to the shelves.
fry's is notorious in norcal too. the one closest to me is the worst. now i'm the last person you would call racist(my wife and i are different races) but the frys around here have a total of 5 american employees. noone speaks good english or gives a damn about the customer. that really sucks too, they just did a major overhaul on store to make it a really nice place, and they carry a ton of stuff. i'd shop there forever if the management would get their head out their ass.

Add Texas to the list of places that Fry's sucks! They blatantly lied to my Dad about the extended warranty on his computer when he bought it. Then, when he went needed to get work done on it, they said that he had been told wrong about the extended warranty. So he immediately went to the sales people and they told him the EXACT SAME LIE! Only when he made the store manager walk back and forth with him to the two people did they refund his money.

You don't go to Fry's for essential components, period. I don't know how many trips it takes to get good working merchandise from them.

I only like Fry's because of the variety, which makes it fun to look around. But like someone said, I'd never buy anything from them that I actually expected to work. The amount of returned merchandise that's on the shelves says it all. I've had to deal with CS once to exchange something and it was a nightmare. Took approximately an hour.
Oh, and can someone tell me what is the point of funnelling everyone through the same line at the registers? I actually feel sorry for the person whose job it is to stand at the beginning of the line and look for the next open space. They usually have 20 cashiers and it still takes about 10 times longer to pay for something than at a place with only 4-5 cashiers and separate lines.
