According to sources close to the company, Intel will unleash its
fastest-ever Pentium 4 processor, the Pentium 4 Extreme Edition, also
known as Intel's response to the AMD64 platform, on Monday. The
Pentium 4 Extreme Edition features a whopping 2MB of Level 3 cache and
runs at 3.2GHz, offering desktop users the processing power of a
modern workstation for the first time. Intel is targeting the chip at
gamers, videographers, and other PC enthusiasts who need the best
possible performance.

:heh: wasn't that the release of the centrino? But really 2MB of cache on L3. . . what are they doing taking game plan notes from motorolla now? My dual G4 already has 2MB of L3. . . works well on a RISC chip wonder how it will work on the p4 especially since its got that long pipeline.

Really would like to see intel stop jacking around and just release a 64bit cpu instead of milking profits as much as possible.

Wow, 6% faster than the 3.06!! THe average overclocker can pull this off with no sweat.

At that price, I would seriously consider watercooling a slower processor.
