Dad Arrested After Pumpkin Attack
Nov 3, 9:06 AM (ET)
ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) - A 43-year-old man faces charges after he smashed a bird-feeder and threw a pumpkin through the window of a house where his young son said he didn't get any Halloween candy.
Police reports show the man was taking his son trick-or-treating about 6:30 p.m. Friday when the child went to a house where a woman was passing out candy.
The boy returned to his father crying, saying he didn't get any candy.
The man confronted the woman, who said she had given the boy candy. The father and son left, but returned a few minutes later.
The man approached the woman, handed her a piece of paper that had his address written on it and told her to call the police, according to the report.
Police said he then threw a small pumpkin through the front window, tossed a second pumpkin at the front door, and uprooted and smashed a bird feeder from the front yard.
A neighbor yelled at the man to stop as he was heading toward a large potted plant. The man took his son home and was there when police arrived.
The man was arrested on a charge of malicious destruction of property and released on his own recognizance.

Saw this in the Wash Post 2 days ago. Where else but Takoma Park? http://home.earthlink.net/~sbp777/smilies/angel2.gif
Every kid wants a wacko spoilsport to ruin Halloween fun (http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A51115-2003Nov1.html)
On Friday night, innocent trick-or-treaters approached a quiet house in Takoma Park. Ensconced on a curve of Erie Avenue, the home looked harmless, a jack-o-lantern flickering on the porch.
Little did children know that the man waiting behind the door would use them for an experiment, asking each to make a choice: Would they like an apple or a chocolate treat laced with saturated fat, sodium and corn syrup?
Michael Tabor, a longtime social activist and organic farmer, says he wants trick-or-treaters to understand their favorite indulgences are virtual "rat poison" that contribute to obesity. He says youngsters should know the medical consequences of being overweight.
He asked the children at his door if they had family members with diabetes. He warned them that chocolate could make them lose their limbs. And then he let them decide.

Okay now that is pretty funny. If you can't scare the **** outta little kids on Halloween then where's the fun. Besides I'd wager most of the kids said they wanted the candy. oops I mean

Difference between boys & girls, I suppose, but my kids eat about 10-20% of the candy they get on holidays (Halloween, Easter, Christmas, etc.)
The rest goes to the vultures I work with (they'll eat anything). That is, of course, after I pick out my fair share.
Hopefully this won't be linked back to the post I just made about eating right... :dodgy:

That's ridiculous. Some parents just need to get their freaking act together.
In trying to re-arrange the way that the props on our porch were set up last Friday, I temporarily left a big bowl full of candy sitting on the porch. I unfortunatley got side tracked and didn't remember to bring it back inside until about 2 minutes later when I went outside to see about 6 little kids pouring the bowl into their bags and trying to run away. The only part about that that bothered me is that there were two parents with them who were trying to get them to hurry so that they wouldn't get caught - and just looked at me with these stupid helpless faces when I came out. I figure kids are going to be kids - they don't know any better. But adults? Come on. Take some f(*&ing responsibility already. When your kids get caught stealing clothes from the mall 8 years from now - it's not going to be because of their friends or hollywood, its going to be because your lazy degenerate asses never bothered to teach them to respect other people's belongings.

You should have screamed "I injected cyanide into one of those" as they ran away.

that's awesome, but seriously, what parent would do that??? candy doesn't cost much money ... buy your kid a frickin bag of mini snickers for a few bucks.
i heard the lady gave the kid candy again, but that was on the news before the facts got straightened out. i wish i knew what part of ann arbor that was from, in general, ann arbor is a very nice city (money money), but there are some ghetto parts. my gf is from there (plus i went to school there)

idiot...
Towards the end of Halloween night my older sister was running low on candy. So she started to give out one fullsized candy bar. A few of the kids copped an attitude like "Only one thing?"
My response would have been: Yeah be glad you are getting anything at all. Know how much fullsized candy bars co$t? I rarely buy myself one to munch down, let alone some dillweed.
The other halloween tale happened at my parents house who live on a deadend street. Now these kids from out of the neighborhood come around with big bags that are half fulled. lo and behold is their mom driving besides them. Its like how lazy can people be? If you have to drive around after taking your kids far from your neighborhood maybe you shouldn't take them out of your neighborhood? :2far: And yeah no surprise the woman certainly needed the exercise.
