Just wondering how useful ebay is to others.

I do both. I am up to 57 but have 63 when you consider non-unique.

All positive

My wife has surpassed my 5 years or so of ebaying in less than a year. So if at all possible don't introduce your wives to it.

I'm at 362 positives, 2 neutrals, and 0 negatives. I mostly sell stuff that I get from got|deals and profit from that.

89, but 74 are unique. All positive. Never have sold, but I would like too soon. It will probably happen when I clean up my place. :D

73 positives and one negative. I have only bought items.

Regarding the negative rating:I bought what the seller claimed were Plextor SCSI CDROMs for dirt cheap. He stated "Sold as is", which I accepted. Well, it turned out that one of three worked, which was OK> But they were IBM units, which CDRWIN will not accept for reading Karaoke discs. To me, this amounted to substituting another product for the correct product.
In addition, the 2 nonworking CDROMs also had "Defective" written on them.
I didn't even bother Emailing the guy after I tested them. I just gave him a "negative" rating. Well, he got back at me by giving me a negative rating. He stated that I should have Emailed him and regardless, they were sold "as is". Gee, Catch 22?

33 (32 unique), all positive, split about even between buys and sells. I'd have a higher number but there's a lot of ****ers out there who don't leave feedback.

that is one of the key problems with ebay's feedback system. i think far too many sellers have overrated feedback numbers because no one wants to leave neg. feedback for fear of retalitory negs.

i think a better system is what half.com had before ebay switched them to the ebay feedback plan. back then, it was a four-star rating system, and you gave a person what you thought they deserved. (the only problem was that there was no "zero star" rating - and believe me, i had one seller who probably deserved negative stars. they sold me a cd that they advertised as "like new" - it arrived with no case inserts or liner notes and the back of it looked like it had been sanded  )

anyway, i think the 4-star system allows you to accurately factor in things like speed of shipping, good packaging, and actual condition of the goods. for instance, IMO many half.com sellers overstate the conditions of their cds (can NO ONE read the defs that they give you when you list an item? ) anyway, if someone sent me a cd that had been overrated, i could give them 3 stars and it was fair. now, the bargain seems to be "unless i send you something that is completely trash and then refuse to do anything to resolve the problem, don't you dare leave negative or even neutral feedback"

8 positives 1 neutral.

My 1 neutral was a broken handle "because of shipping". I didn't get insurance on it, so i left the seller neutral feedback.

419 positives. 372 are from unique users.
2 neutrals converted from users no longer registered. (eBay used to convert positive feedback to neutral when the user who left the feedback was suspended.)
I have left 568 feedback comments, including at least two negs.

GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!

Hadn't checked my eBay rating for a while, since hadn't sold much lately. To my surprise, some *(&)( left me negative feedback!

He bought a vhs tape in the beginning of August, emailed mid September saying "it don't work". I check *everything* before shipping, have sold numerous vhs tapes without ever having a problem. I replied, stated exactly this, but told him to return the tape anyway and I would refund (even though it was well past the 30 day return policy stated). He never replied, never returned tape, and then waits til October 20th to leave a negative. So now I have 41 positives from 37 different users, and one negative from a guy who has left 6 negatives and 3 neutrals out of 30 feedback comments.

sigh...

112, all positive, mostly from selling. I don't throw anything away anymore. Unless it is too big to ship, I sell it on eBay. It's absolutely the best way to get rid of obsolete PC software and hardware.

99 visible (like 108 positive)

1 negative... because the bidder didnt read as stated in my auction that the speakers did NOT include the special cable. his feedback was "cable was supposed to have been included". WTF? Just cause he didnt read the description he thinks its ok to post neg feedback. Man i was pissed.

36 positive, no negative. I'm actually surprised becuase I've left negative feedback for a number of people - all who deserved it - but I thought they'd leave negative in return. Anyways, I just checked the feedback that I've left and it's upsetting because there are like 15 transactions where the other person never left feedback. Hmph.
