You go into the bathroom and see that the toilet paper holder has an empty card board roller but there is another roll of tp on the sink, but it will be used up soon. Do you bother to put the almost finished roll on the holder, or do you just wait to finish that one too and start with a fresh one?
Yes, this happened to me today and I'm not sure how to deal with it.
Just use the almost finished one without putting it on the roller. If it's almost done, you'll only have to spool it manually for a few defecations. THEN it will be done, and you can start a new roll.
How did that almost done roll get placed up on the sink anyway if it was "used"? :)

I will put the new one in the holder, and the used one somewhere
close by. I had done this a few times.

also, while we are at it -- do you put that tp so that it pulls out over or under the roll?

Put a new one in the holder and use the "used" one.
I have put them both ways (under & over) but I like them to be over.

geez, is it really so hard to change a roll of TP. i mean, i am an INCREDIBLY lazy person. i'm not even going to say in public how long it's been since i washed my dishes, emptied my garbage, or did my laundry. but even i change the toilet paper roll at the appropriate time :2far:

I use the moist flushable wipes, so this isn't an issue for me. And hey, isn't this a potty thread? Does it qualify?

The inablity to make simple decisions is a sign of depression. Just a note, and the reason I know is because I also have a hard time making seemingly simple choices and its not because I'm stupid. Best of luck Rocket

wow. this is a thread for unmarried folks. if i or my wife even thought of just leaving it there, we'd be on the other person's a$$ real quick.
plus austin would get it and he'd have ALL kinds of fun w/it. even worse is leaving the empy cardboard thing w/only one square on it. that's grounds for divorce.

my wife don't use my bathroom, i don't use hers. unfortunatly for them, the guests have to use mine. which means there is never a roll of tissue on the holder. just an empty cardboard tube with a fresh roll stacked on top.

Your situation is Al Bundy's ideal situation. :D
The partially used roll should never end up on the sink. Once a roll is empty a new full roll replaces it on the holder, with the sheets coming over the roll. It's not a matter of preference; that's the right way to do it. :P It puts more space between the hanging square(s) and the wall, reducing any risk of jamming your fingers against the wall or contaminating the wall with your dirty hand. Additionally, it makes it easier to tear sheets off.

when that happens (and it happens often) i put a new big one on the roller, and then continue to use the nearly gone unhung one til gone, then proceed to the hung one.
huh huh. hung.

ugh..why would your hand be dirty unless you were fishing around in Area 51 before you got the paper off the roll.

Honestly, am I the only person who prefers the sheets to come from under the roll? Seeing all these people who prefer it the other way makes me wonder.....

I make sure there is always a fresh roll in the bathroom because I would hate for someone to come to my house and they have to yell out for tp and always always the paper is over
Donna
we keep 3 rolls next to the toliet at all times. We got Costco rolls comming out of our ears :P
and over or under... most of the time under, because that's how it ends up going on. to be honest it doesn't matter to me
