Dog Shoots Man

Nov 6, 7:49 AM (ET)

PARIS (Reuters) - A French hunter was shot by his dog after he left a loaded shotgun in the trunk of his car with two dogs and one of the animals accidentally stepped on the trigger, police said Wednesday.

The man, from the village of Espelette in the Basque region, was admitted to a hospital in the nearby town of Bayonne Monday with leadshot injuries to the hip.

"As he was driving along, one of his dogs accidentally set off the gun," said a police official.
Leave it to the French....

Maybe he was just getting even for this dog story:

NORMAN, Okla. -- A Norman man faces a felony animal cruelty charge for allegedly using a 12-guage shotgun to castrate his dog.

Joseph Dabney is charged in Cleveland County District Court after a Norman police officer found the dog bleeding.

Dabney told police he used a rubber band and shotgun on the dog because he could not afford to pay a veterinarian to perform the procedure.

The dog, a Rottweiler-pit bull mix, is expected to recover.
