every time i see that, with blacks whites, latinos, whatever... i wanna come up to the kid kick him in the teeth and tell him STFU you little brat. I don't know why people don't do that. If i ever did that to any of my parents, not even that but just screamed on the top of my lungs in public "to get attention" i would have been pushing up daisies a long time ago

you got that right..I had more respect for my parents than to ever do that in public..now in private -there is nothing more loving that a house full of loud, screaming italians who are crazier than sh|thouse rats.

To me, this is total B.S.

yeahh... hitting is almost never the right way to discipline a child, doesn't teach em much usually, and i think most people who hit their kids at all do it too much and think it does a lot more good than it actually does.

that said, i bop eg on the cheek when he runs away in a parking lot or store. because you can't EXPLAIN danger to a two or three year old, and i'm damn well not taking any chances with him getting kidnapped or hit by a car. it was a habit that needed to be broken as quickly as possible.

and every time, i get dirty looks, people whipping out their cell phones with an indignant look... *sigh* i dunno. a bop to make a point is kinda different from beating em (as in, hitting em repeatedly, even after they are crying.) i don't know everything, but i'm pretty sure that there's no excuse for that... it's not even effective.

on the other hand, i see dirty, deformed kids with trashy parents doing things they shouldn't be allowed to do, and i actually want to go hit them, and i think it would make me smile...

anyway, that was sorta funny, all in all.
