When and what is black friday?

Pakron

Black Friday is the friday after thanksgiving, traditionally THE day to get the best deals of the year. This day is where you will find the most free after rebate deals as well as huge discounts on other items. They do this to kick off the holiday season with some enormous volume sales, and obviously to hope the customer will see other items that they might want to pick up even if they arent on sale. Usually the fun lasts till noon or so but sometimes longer.

On what grounds would it be considered illegal to post?

PS: that list is great for finding other stores

You been smokin' that whacky tobaccy, Pakron?

Black Friday is the friday after thanksgiving, traditionally THE day when store after store ADVERTISE great buys on many items as "loss leaders" in order to get you into the store... then screw you because they send out 1,000,000 newspaper ad flyers while only stocking 6 of each item in the individual stores.

Black Friday, then, is largely an exercize in futility in which you get up before dawn on a day when you REALLY want to sleep and rush from 6:00 AM opening tp 6:00 AM opening, hoping beyond hope to get even one $50 Palm Pilot or one $35 17" monitor... usually ending up exhausted and disappointed... and royally pissed at the stores, which defeats the whole purpose of the sale in the first place.

Smart bargain-hounds use these ads in advance to do one of three things:

(1) go into the stores early in the week, find stuff you know will be on sale, and hide it for purchase during the sale period.

(2) go into the stores early in the week, find stuff you know will be on sale, buy it before the sale starts, then go back to the store during the sale period (but at a reasonable hour) and return then rebuy the sale items (so as to get the lower price and a properly dates sales slip), or

(3) buy your sale items from the comfort of your home on-line. In many cases, the store website will match the sale price and rebates, even when the ad says "IN STORE ONLY". The trick here is to keep checking the site every couple of hours, starting Thursday AM, until you find the sale in effect on-line.

Don't want to spoil your fun, but WM for one, does not normally stock a lot of the blitz items normally. So, no, you can't buy and return, or price adjust MOST of what is in the ad for the 6am sale.
