Well, not really, if you read the weight.

I buy a box of 30 packages of Ritz Bits at Sam's Club occasionally. They generally cost $7.50 for the box.

I bought a box last week for around $8.30. I figured that everything goes up, so no big deal.

Well, I opened the bag and it seemed like there were fewer crackers in the package. So I looked at the weight of the old box: 2 pounds and 13 ounces compared to 2 pounds and 5 ounces for the new box. That's a difference of 20%!!.

Combined with the price increase, the total cost is approx. 30% higher than several months ago. And they say that inflation is dead? I don't think so.

Talk about a double whammy. Most of the time they do one or the other.

So the box remained the same size? :dodgy:

I am pretty sure. If it was smaller, I didn't notice. If it was the same size, they may have added extra air to make up for the difference :P

it's been a market trend for the last few years to lessen the amount of food by an fraction and think no one is gonna notice.
