This is one of those SS/NSS/HW/ND threads but it's mostly about getting a good deal on a phone from the deals page.

Sprint has been giving me some grief. Long story... Mailed check they said they didnt recieve it so with latest bill I send a check for both months after talking to their @$$hole collections guy. You know me Im like checks in the mail do what you gotta do cuz I dont have time to discuss this. He decides to cancel service a couple days later to make a point. That might work on punks but I dont play that. I talked to a cs and decided to cancel. I called the cancel # 1-877-349-4413 and talked to a polite cs and she got it immediately turned back on. I'm pretty much done with sprint. After almost 2 years of service and I'm getting dissed over $50?!?!? Give some people a lil power....

So anyways, what service is good for L.A. and OC. Anyone look at the different phones and plans. I won't use it a lot except on weekends and would like to find a service plan for around $50 a month. Heard good things about motorola and sanyo lately but im done with samsung (girly ringtones, bad reception).

Was looking at these:

Steer clear of ATT GSM. They blow chunks like no other. If anything though, the Samsung GSM phones, though girly, are nicer than the Samsung CDMA phones on SPCS. Remember, VZW rejects most samsung phones due to bad RF. In any case, if you're going GSM, go T-mob.

Phones on T-mob i'd recc., Samsung S105, S205, SE T610, Nokia 3650

That's pretty much it.

Otherwise, i'd reccomend VZW. I personally use both

VZW - LG4400
T-mob T610

I like both phones.

AT&T's network, at least for the next year or two will suck monkey nuts.

Reception on the T610 isn't as good as the Samsung phones..it's decent....but not nearly as good as Samsung GSM...and never will be. Otherwise, the phone is pretty darn cool. I personally like it....it's pretty slick.

I wouldn't have any reservations reccomending it.

SS has better reception than the sony? I read bad things on the T610's reception, volume and its camera. Dont care about the camera, bluetooth may come in handy but reception and volume could be a problem. Whats the batterie life like? Maybe I'll look at some of the other phones for a minute. I have until midnight I think...

How are the motorolas nowadays?

I personally love the Nokia 3650 (you make $50-$70 if you get it from letstalk.com instead of Amazon I think) for these features:

- bluetooth (sync w/ Outlook contacts, todo & calendar..nuff said)
- mmc support (got a 128mb in mine)
- tmobile extremely reasonable data plans +$4.99 unlimited data to any plan
- camera also doubles as a video recorder and its better quality (better lens) than the T610

In short, I wanted the T610 back in April/May when I first started looking at phones...now that I've seen a few and read what people have said, I'm very confident in the 3650 I bought (I actually bought 2, one for me & one for my wife).

I highly recommend the 3650. Its quite a capable phone and I still think Nokia gets the nod on intuitive menus over SE. As far as MSFT Smartphones..well I'm underwhelmed w/ the new Motorola..doesn't even have Bluetooth for goodness sakes...wasn't BT basically invented FOR CELLPHONES???

Geez.

YMMV
