Hmmm isn't Cendyne out of business? Who is gonna honor the rebates. Something doesn't look right.

You're right... I will be keeping tabs on it, so check back when we get the real deal in :)

read something in maximum pc about cendyne ... don't expect to get a rebate back. not saying you won't, but they went under. i guess usually only about 20% of customers complete rebates, but cendyne experienced about 60%. that can add up to a lot of money!

i would recommend stay away from cendyne

it is not worth waiting in line at 3-4 am.

Whatever happened to the days when you got deals WITHOUT REBATE. Best Buy used to just have good prices now everything has to have a rebate attached to it in order to get the deal.

These deals suck, im gonna sleep in unless they come with some super hot deals like the past years.

I expect a lot better deals when the real Staples and full Best Buy flier come out. No information for FAR stuff yet.

2 years ago, it was WELL worth camping out at Best Buy at 2am when they had a 60GB hard drive for $50 AR (was $150 at the time), and a few other things I wanted. For one night/morning a year, I don't mind braving the cold to save $100+ ;) But it really depends on what's offered each year and what you want/need at the time. :)

FW has been down for like an hour!

I'm a little worried about things over at FW too... this happened last year. As soon as the first Black Friday thread was posted, within 12 hours, they were all over it. I was surprised it got as far as it did this year! Maybe G|A will fly under the radar... we'll see. I just like to find out where I should be planning to shop more than the day before Black Friday (aka Thanksgiving :D)

The information has been pulled from FW by the moderators. They "became aware of a D.M.C.A. notification and subpoena from what appears to be the legal firm representing Best Buy Enterprise Services, Inc."

Whether I see information early online or not, I'll still set my Black Friday campsite based on the official ad that comes in my paper. I don't think getting the info pulled from websites will change who lines up and gets the goodies, so the DMCA stuff seems like a waste of money to me.

BUMPers, just got the "rumor" from FW. Seems that this one is more realistic than the other one with the $200 DVD burner... $100 is better. :) But this is just for those who can't wait till Thanksgiving to plan, enjoy!

I dont know if this is a dumb question or not, but can you buy the items you want now, then bring your receipt to customer service on black friday to return it and rebuy it at the new price? This way you could go in anytime before noon or whatever and still get the deal AND guarantee you get the item you want. Also, what do they do with all the people who are still in line when the deals end at noon or whenever?

^I _believe_ they changed policies so that you can't do that because there were a TON of people doing that last year

It's RUMORED that the DVD burners are in stock at Staples, and possibly the one at Office Depot that they will have on sale. The rest of the free after rebate stuff will usually not be out till the day after T-Giving. The best way to check if you don't want to fight the crowds is to stop by your local Staples and see ;)

Smart deal-hounds will copy this page to a Word document or something, along with all other BF threads you can find, so that you will still have the deals if the lawyers strike...

i worked at bestbuy for two black fridays, i'm telling you it's nuts. but to answer your question, i'm almost positive that won't work with price changing scheme...as for all the people who show up/in line after 12...they're just plain S.O.L.

The Samsung 17" LCD ($280) and ATI R9600 video card ($70) are not bad either.

Okay, c'mon guys...we know the deal we're all looking for is a GameCube bundled with Mario Kart: Double Dash.

Well...maybe that's just me. ;)

Lite-On 4x Multi-Format DVD Burner - $80 A/R
Samsung 17" LCD Monitor - $280 A/R
ATI Radeon 9600 128MB - $70 A/R

Now I got a question on the ATI Radeon 9600 128MB Video Card? Does this video comes with Half-Life 2 or it's only on the pro edition?

Thanks,

Master-Q
