Software piracy aside. A lot of people know about a corporate key that has been flying around the net, but I forget what it looks like. If you've got a CD of windows XP and you used that product key, then months down the road, you reinstall Windows XP and it won't accept that product key right at the setup menu even after reformatting the drive, how is it that it doesn't work anymore? I know Microsoft has since then blocked this key because it is so popular, but how would the CD, or the computer know not to accept it without even being online yet? That boggles me. Anyways, yes, at one time I did purchase a retail copy of Windows XP Pro, a former friend of mine out in California got a hold of it though, and now I am in NC and I will never see the CD again so basically I am screwed and running Windows 98SE...
