View Full Version : Lewinsky says her past has hurt her love life

Monica Lewinsky says her White House liaison is a liability on the dating scene.
The intern infamous for her affair with President Bill Clinton said in the December issue of GQ magazine that she dates occasionally but her romantic relationships have been short-lived.
Lewinsky, 30, said in the interview she sympathized with the men she meets, saying she, too, would be intimidated by the tales of her past.
"If I were a guy and I'd heard all those things about a girl, I don't know that I'd want to take her out," Lewinsky told the men's magazine.
But Lewinsky also admitted she is impatient when men are not as responsive to her as she would like them to be.
"The one thing I don't do well with, with a guy, is ambivalence," she said. "I want to shake them and say, 'C'mon, just like me! Do what I say!"'
In the nearly six years since news of Lewinsky's dalliance with Clinton broke, leading to his 1998 impeachment and later acquittal by the U.S. Senate, Lewinsky has designed handbags and, most recently, hosted a reality TV show.
But the woman that nearly cost Clinton the Oval Office said she wanted to dispel rumors that the scandal had made her wealthy.
"One of the huge misconceptions about me in the past few years is that I have made a fortune from this," Lewinsky said. "People who have this idea that I have millions of dollars or even a million, or close to a million, are off their rocker."

*beeeeeeeeep*
how can you call her an adulterer when she did not have sex with the man?
\A*dul"ter*er\, n. [Formed fr. the verb adulter, with the E. ending -er. See Advoutrer.] 1. A man who commits adultery; a married man who has sexual intercourse with a woman not his wife.

It wouldn't have anything to do with the fact that she MAY OR MAY NOT have a personality..(or maybe even MULTIPLE ONES! HAHA)..or the fact she has an ass the size of TEXAS. Someone send her name in to Yahoo personals..I'm sure there is some lonely guy out there who'd LOVE to be her buddy...once he divorces his sister and finds his teeth.

I was always amazed by the amount of ire she drew from this whole flap. Sure, she comitted adultery. Yeah, she did it with the president. However, more people are pissed at her than were EVER pissed at the pres, who is KNOWN to be a cheating bastard through his whole life. She was a younger intern who was seduced by a powerful man...wow, yeah, she deserves all the hate we can give her..
Then, the fact that every other joe on the block was saying she is ugly and fat. Thats so fekking shallow its pathetic. I think she is far from ugly, and she certainly isn't as fat as many women. Personally, I am not one for beanpole chicks, thats just me though.
She made a mistake, but I would put the heavier burden on Billy Bob.

it was also the fact she had/was having an affair with another married man on capital hill. the fact she had had an abortion because of an affair didn't help her either. (didn't this come out on that diane sawyer or whatever interview?)

i'd never heard any of that stuff....i don't really think that has much to do with people's feelings on her (because obviously if i haven't heard of it than no one has :P)
i agree with LK that she doesn't deserve the venom she's received from much of the public. but then again so many of the instant celebs that are created by media frenzies suffer similar fates, particularly if they aren't model perfect (and if they are, then they get all kinds of other "attention" -- anyone remember elian gonzales' cousin who was uber-hot? :naughty: )

Abortion 'traumatised' Monica (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/290413.stm)

Monica Lewinsky was left deeply traumatised by having an abortion during her affair with President Clinton, her biography has revealed.
The former White House intern was so depressed that she underwent lengthy therapy to try to come to terms with the termination.
But she had become pregnant by another man with whom she had a relationship during the time that she and the president were lovers and she never told Mr Clinton about her abortion.
Miss Lewinsky's secret is revealed in the book Monica's Story, by Andrew Morton, which is being serialised in The Mirror newspaper.
She says: "I wasn't emotionally prepared for it. It was just horrible and very depressing."
Her other boyfriend - a Pentagon official called Thomas - had been seeing other women. When she found out, in the second half of 1996, she split with him - then discovered she was expecting, Mr Morton says.
