Does anybody know where I can get my hands on downloads of X-Men Evolution season 4? I'm kind of afraid to go on Kazaa and other download programs these days... (by the way, is it illegal to download TV programs like this, or just explicitly copyrighted material like mp3s?)

Q2 = yes, it's illegal, but just like MP3's, the people who are getting busted/sued are the ones SHARING the songs, not the people DOWNLOADING. Those who share are providing people with free copyrighted material, which is a big no-no to many groups.

But as far as finding it, good luck :)

Isn't it the same as recording a show on your VCR though? I'm not sure I understand the illegality of downloading. Oh well. Illegal is illegal (and prosecution is prosecution).

Speeding in your automobile is "illegal" (maybe just a violation, but you get the idea), but they only catch the big offenders... maybe a helpful analogy :)

Public distribution and reproduction of a program is illegal. Fair Use does allow consumers to tape programs or make backup copies in ANALOG form. However, Fair Use does not apply to DIGITAL works. Basically, Fair Use laws in regards to Digital works are sitting in a grey area where it's not specifically in writing that digital is illegal, but it's not specifically in writing that it is legal. Regulators have bigger fish to fry than end users who are trying to get a clip from a recent movie.

Maybe I can get one of my more daring friends to DC++ it and burn it onto CDs for me :P. If not, that's that. After those 200-something big lawsuits/settlements this summer I'm not going near my fileshare programs.

Okay... I'm not going to get into a debate as to the legality of this subject, but these forums are NOT meant to be a place to get or give information on how to obtain these things. Take it elsewhere.
