Hi all,

Which OS would you recommend for a laptop which I will connect it to different network everyday (home and school)? I've been using Win2k at home since it was out. Though I've also been using WinXP system at school, I never like it. Is there any compelling reason for me to not use Win2k? TIA.

I use WinXP Pro on my home machines, Win2K on my laptop.

The main reason is that the software I need to use for connecting to my office VPN does not work with WinXP. That being said...

I also connect the laptop to various other networks, including the various wireless hotspots around here. Never had a single problem with Win2K.

I think you gave your answer when you said "I've also been using WinXP system at school, I never like it."

Good luck!

I decided to give XP another try and tweak everything to look like Win2k. Now I'm more comfortable at that environment. But even with WinXP, it still couldn't detect my 4 USB 2.0 ports and in the HP driver CD or their website, they don't include the USB driver. I tried to install the standard USB 2.0 driver but it didn't work. :( Anyone has any suggestion on how to solve this problem? TIA
