trying to cool down right now...but man am I pissed


to explain.
there's a tool that we use to schedule our overnight jobs. you can issue commands with this tool, as well as ping it to force it to grab. last night, I was up all night working on some crap, and one of the non-urgent overnight jobs was slowing my work down. so, I canceled it. pinged a few times, realized I had the wrong date, and so canceled it with the right date, and pinged. canceled.

this morning, I get an e-mail from the guy who managaes that tool asking why I pinged 6 times. he goes on to explain that "Apparently there is a bug in [the tool] which this stimulated which eventually took [the tool] down early this morning."


I explain what happened.

his reply, to his whole group and me.

"That’s because you were canceling jobs for 12/2 and pinging 12/3. Do you need a lesson in this?"

i don't need that fukcing attitude from a piece of ****. It took all of me to not reply to everyone and start telling him off.

I could even reply with a smart comment right now, but I'll refrain. I'm not going to be a piece of **** like him.

I have constantly found out that managers know nothing about the actual work they are in, but were hired for their "managing skills". All the managers I know hardly ever have a background in what they are managing.
