the earthquakes are actually kinda fun, it's like riding a wave on the pavement http://www.gotapex.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
05-09-2000, 06:18 PM
Not if your first quake experience was under a concrete slab waiting for summer school to start. Scaarry. Still gives me chills thinking about my first one.
After that it was all just a joke.
05-09-2000, 06:22 PM
i have to agree, as long as your in no imediate danger, earthquakes are fun, its a very unusual experience
Its just like one of those vibrating beds after you put money in it. Not that I would know anything about that. http://www.gotapex.com/ubb/wink.gif

I live in SC....even though it is lame...heck no Earthquakes, Mud Slides, Tornados. Ya! Oops we only have hurricanes every year, heck I think I like my chances better in CA! http://www.gotapex.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
05-09-2000, 08:46 PM
Silicon Valley where regular gas costs $2.13 a gallon and $1,000,000 gets you a shack of a house.
05-09-2000, 10:37 PM
ahh memories, you guys all remember the "duck and cover" routine? http://www.gotapex.com/ubb/smile.gif
05-09-2000, 11:51 PM
I remember doing that as a little kid in Chicago.
My elementary school had one of those nuclear shelter signs on it. Ah, the Cold War. Thank God it ended with a fizzle. The teachers never tod us it was about protecting us from a missle, but the smart ones knew. I'm not even that old either.
05-10-2000, 12:26 AM
No earthquakes...no tornadoes...nothing like that in NYC!
05-10-2000, 12:36 AM
05-10-2000, 12:41 AM

05-10-2000, 01:59 AM
Uranus: your not a travelling con-artist or anything are you? http://www.gotapex.com/ubb/biggrin.gif j/k
05-10-2000, 03:43 AM
I would rather be in a hurrican region than near tornados or earthquakes. I've been SoCal my entire life so they don't really freak me out, but when they go off at 4:31 AM it scares you like nothing you can imagine! Remember, they're the most powerful natural event. Tornados are slightly less scary as you have a slight warning, but 300+ mph winds - sheesh Earth or Jupiter.
Hurricanes, outrun them in your car http://www.gotapex.com/ubb/smile.gif Of course they are a constant annual problem.
When we finally get that big quake in LA or NYC, we'll all see just how bad quakes are. Just look at Turkey last year.
Ço£o§§ü§ - yeah you can read into it...
05-11-2000, 01:24 AM
Nope not a con artist (or am i? http://www.gotapex.com/ubb/smile.gif )
Well, actually i moved mostly when living with my parents. After that just wanted to move around and check out other states. Now i'm moving because i'm looking for work. Kind of scarce for what i want to do.
05-12-2000, 12:29 AM
I'm looking for work. Don't know if I'd move for it, though. Anyone got a job for me????????

What colossus didn't know is that some 'roo had taken a wizz into the puddles beforehand. http://www.gotapex.com/ubb/wink.gif
Sounds like someone here is trying to pretend not having a football* team doesn't hurt. http://www.gotapex.com/ubb/tongue.gif My skins are the odds on favorite to be super bowl champs this year. http://www.gotapex.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
It's nice to see the rams show a little appreciation for the hard working taxpayers of St. Louis after the taxpayers spent BIG bucks luring them to St. Louis. I can't say I approve of the public spending BIG money for stadiums and of cities competing with each other this way to lure teams away. That money should be used for other much more important things or better yet be back in taxpayers pockets where it belongs not creating some low paying jobs for a few days of the year.
*I'm not talking about that weanie playing soccer sport either.
