rap, r&b, alternative, top40, country (yes i said country) hehe.. all kinds of things.. before college all i did was listen to rap and r&b but i met a lot of interesting people in college that introduced me to a lot of other kinds of music.. i guess the kind of country that i like is the newer (last 5 or so years) stuff.. toby keith, martina mcbride, and of course tim, garth, faith, etc, etc...

hip hop, alt, trance.
Everything but country. It sounds like whining and it's too depressive.

I like pretty much everything but country!
Porn groove to metal to hardcore punk... Slayer, Gwar, X-cops, Asinine Solution, etc.
Tryin' to round up a drummer for a punk band at the moment, which is dang near impossible 'round these parts....

Bvalkor, that is right I forgot to mention classic music, but I think everyone should like classic. NiceMann, I don't know anybody here in NY who would listen to country. I don't like country, but it is way better then rap to me.

I am not a country fan, if it is on the radio I will change the station. However, country music videos are another story. Is it just me or are 99% of female country music singers HOT http://www.gotapex.com/ubb/eek.gif

I still listen to them but thats like an average of the most listened to artists. I also listen to nirvana, korn, limp bizkit etc. but GnR will always be my favorite, except for nirvana's album theirs is the only other one i can put in the cd player and leave untill the cd's played through all the songs at least twice.

I probably have the most diverse taste in music here. You name the genre, I probably like at least 10 groups or artists in that category. Country is been becoming more "pop" lately. Faith Hill and Shania defintely are hotties. The only music I have never been able to really like is really Hard, Hard Metal and stuff like Metallica (my idea of Hard Metal)
Favorite group would have to be Depeche Mode though. Nobody defined the alternative/euro synth pop of the 80's more than these guys. No wonder they had a tribute album from so many modern day rock/alt groups.
Eminem seems like he has some interesting stuff as of late. Most gangsta rap is just lame. Same old bass blarring, meaningless, I'll shoot you Mofo chatter. His stuff at least seems somewhat comical. Gotta give props to Will Smith though. You Can't Touch This hehe.
Anybody listen to Soundtracks/Musicals? Must say I love Les Misèrables and listening to movie Scores/Soundtracks when I'm depressed.
Techno rules when you're in your car and wanna do 120+ mph http://www.gotapex.com/ubb/smile.gif Amrivlin, let's trade some techno man!
I'm also into the standard 80's stuff, modern pop, Adult comtemporary, Easy Listening, a smidgin of R&B (any song without the word Baby more than 5 times), Hip Hop, a small bit of Kiddy Pop (ie Spears is tolerable, but I would shoot any 5 member male group), some New Age stuff, and definitely alt. rock.
Who wants to trade MP3s? Got 800+ CDs I can rip http://www.gotapex.com/ubb/smile.gif

I listen to almost anything new or original sounding. I like Soul Coughing, Moby, Digable Planets, Elliot Smith, Zebrahead, Talvin Singh, They Might Be Giants, Weezer, etc etc.
Oh and I love classic rock cuz I grew up with it, CCR, Beatles, Steve Miller Band, and I'm convinced that Pink Floyd is God.

I'm working on that Hapoo! Dude, I invented the need for unlimited local calls http://www.gotapex.com/ubb/smile.gif
I used to be a WAREZ courier with my 2400 modem when everybody else had 14.4 simply because I would get the job done overnight with a steady connection.
This past year I d/l close to 1 GB of MP3s in 1 week over a 56K connection. I'd like to see somebody top that.
I gotta have my music wherever I go, and I even need it to fall asleep sometimes. 800 CDs isn't heard if you really like the music and really get into it. The first 400 or so are from BMG and Columbia House with a few bought retail. The rest are CD-Rs http://www.gotapex.com/ubb/smile.gif

SBP- no, it's not bragging. Everybody has their "thing". Some people love jewelry, some loves shoes, some watches. I love music. 400 CDs at about $4 each and another 400 CDs at about $1 each is less than what most people pay for leather on their car! I just need to have my music man!
Speedfreak, Hapoo, Evil - nobody tops me when I go d/l insane. I don't constantly use the net. I've been away from Apex for almost 37 hours now - WOW! So when I do get on I go nuts. I just don't feel like leeching from Napster now, but when I do I'll tie up my phone line about 20 hours of a 24 hour day at about 18 MB per hour.
As far as speed, I'm not sure what exactly it is, but TRW has all their sites here in CA linked with some wicked stuff. Hughes and Boeing use this connection type as well. Anywho, I (through my hookups with PWA - if you don't know don't ask) managed to get 41GB of MP3s (all different) in about 2 hours. Then I realized that I wasn't able to bring my computer to the facility and had no means to transport other than CD-R or optical disc. I just chucked them. I'm sure I could have had some songs I'm looking for, but oh well.
Oh, when I had my T1 connection at UCLA I ran it for about 50 hours straight and managed to procure about 14GB of video and music. Mind you this was in 1995 when MP2s were all the rave and Western Digital's new drive was a 1.6GB. I had to buy 3 of those and share disk space on roomate's and dormate's computers to d/l that stuff. Beavis and Butthead videos that I have to this day.
If anybody was a courier on here then I give you props for mad amounts of data transfer.
High quality MP3s is what I live for. Why the hell else would I need 100+ GB of drivespace in medical school? Now those of you with 500+ posts, now that's something I can't touch...
