Has anyone hear tried acupuncture? I have been having some major sinus problems again and nothing seems to help. A girl I know swears that acupuncture is the way to go.

I just wanted to get other opinions. I guess maybe trying it will be better than having another surgery, but I am just not sure about the whole process.

I haven't done it myself, but I personally know several people that have done very well with accupuncture treatment. Someone that Merlin and I both know had horrible food allergies that defied treatment until she went to a skilled accupuncturist that specialized in allergies. After about a month or so of accupuncture treatments, she was food allergy free and has been now for several years. Her sister had the same problems she did and got the same treatment - she took a little longer (6-8 weeks I think) but she is now cured as well.

My Judo sensei goes to a good accupuncturist for treatment of a chronic elbow injury and afterward the difference is like night and day for him (until he tweaks it again in Judo).

While in my opinion most "alternative" medical treatments are complete horse$#@* and do nothing but reinforce the power of the placebo effect, Accupuncture is a very real and effective means of adjusting the human body's central nervous system to achieve impressive results. One thing though from what my Judo sensei and friends tell me - Accupuncture is only as effective as the accupuncturist's skill and training.

Thanks for the advice! I don't really believe in "alternative" medical medicines either. It is good to know that a few people have actually gotten good results with acupuncture. There are two people in the area that do it, so I will have to look into their backgrounds a little more. Like I said before, I haven't had any relief with anything else.

kimchicowboy, did it help a problem that you had, or do you do it as preventitive medicine?
