I want to see the video you shot, I have no idea what happened cause i dont watch sports an i was very busy yesterday.

So I went to game 6 and sat near Kobe's uncle (gotta check the tape to see if I was on national TV hehe). It was the first Championship game I have ever been at, and it was awesome. I've been waiting pretty much 12 years for the moment.

So, I jumped in my seat and yelled my head off, singing "I Love LA" with the rest of the crowd, and "We Are The Champions".

Then I realized I wanted to leave ASAP so I didn't get killed in the looting. I even tried to head away from the freeway traffic which would be nucking futs, but the police blocked off some side roads I knew. So I was forced to exit with the other people in a mad dash for safety.

Well, while driving out in the bumper to bumper traffic some punks came walking through the streets, and I thought I would be OK. After all I survived UCLA's '95 madness, this would be the same right? Next thing I know 2 guys go running onto the hood of my car and stand on it while I'm moving at 2mph. I honk at them, and they both him me the finger.

You regulars know I hate confrontation - I'm even a sissy if you want to call it that. Not cuz I'm small (5'10 215lbs) but I just hate useless violence. So I open my window and tell the guys to please get off my car. The response was one of them yelling "F you". The other guy just walked off my car. So I say to the guy, "get off my car, I don't want to hurt you". The response is more detailed this time - "F you Bitch!" He then jumps off the hood and thows one of those detour signs at my left rear window and it breaks http://www.gotapex.com/ubb/eek.gif

OK, nobody messes with my car!!! I get out and pop the guy in the nose with my flat palm with a straight jab breaking his nose and somehow cutting my right index finger!

So now I have to drive though this madness with blood all over my car's dash and steering wheel. After 48 minutes I finally get to the 10 and get home driving all the way with a broken window.

I'm so happy the Lakers won, but this pisses me off. I come home to see the "fans" burning cars and looting stores. Sometimes I wish I was in like Russia or something. I would have plowed over all those people with my car, spinning in circles trying to mow down as many people as possible.

Lakers even put up a commercial saying please celebrate responsibly. There's no "Love" for the team when you blatantly set fire to cars in your path. I hope those people all burn in H*ll. I was also very disappointed with LAPD who obviously was not prepared for the situation. They didn't go to full tactical alert until the 2nd cop car was burned. Hmmm, who's running this show?

Fortunately I have lot of it on tape and will be turning it over to the Cerritos Sherrif's.

Now I need to fix my car window and get it tinted http://www.gotapex.com/ubb/frown.gif Seriously cuts into my deal time and $.

Next time I go to a Finals Game I'm going to take my old station wagon and glue Surgical Steel blades to the surface of the car. One step on those should cut through your shoe, skin, tendons, ligaments, and some bone. Damn, finger's bleeding again...no more typing. I guess this should have been in the Suckage/Not So Suckage post. Oh well, make it a topic about rioting.

Man I would be pissed if something like that happened to me. Like yourself I am not that small (6'2, 240 lbs). I would have done more then break that little punks nose. I wouldn't have killed him or anything, but he would differently remembered it next time. But knowing my luck he would be carrying, but heck that is the chance you got to take.

I don't see why the h*ll people get like that. I mean I am all for sports, but come on. Riots?? Damn people get over it. The lakers even won....come on now.

It's 5 frickin AM and I'm still awake cuz my hand is still stingin. I think I caught a piece of his tongue piercing or something.

Yeah, guns scare the crap out of me, but he didn't look like he was packing. I didn't even get that far from the car, just opened the door fast, took off seatbelt, jumped up and out, and let my hand fly. I should have backhanded him with my fist and took out some teeth.

Heck, with my medical knowledge I could have snapped his neck back and severed his spinal cord at C1/C2. I don't think that would have helped the situation. Last thing I needed was more attention on myself http://www.gotapex.com/ubb/frown.gif

What does that say about me as a person though? As a future physician I should control myself. I'm pretty good about that as I've only gotten in 6 fights where punches were thrown, and I won every one. The only time I get spanked is when I spar with friends or got kicked in the nuts during Tae Kwon Do.

This whole thing is still pissing me off. No wonder the cops in LA are pissed. They have to allow this nonsense to occur or get faced with Police Brutality. I wanna see how many charges/lawsuits of police brutality are brought up. Sometimes I wish cops could just say "Heck, I'm off duty now. Wanna try me punk?"

I was watching the news last hour and some dumbass was saying the reason people got mad was because the cops were trying to spoil their fun. Hmm, since when was set ablaze somebody's vehicle considered fun?

As for the cops, I like the idea of restraint. Letting the bonfires burn is cool. Letting cars burn is not. Especially a $40K cop car. They report now that 300 police were on the scene when the game let out. Hmm, 30-40K people, 300 cops, oh yeah, that's smart. They had to call in an extra 300 and then another 500 after that and some horses. If they had the high profile security to begin with nobody would have pulled anything stupid.

Yeah, I wish they drove in with hummers and APCs and let loose with rubber bullets and beanbags.

I wonder how the rioters would like it if the classmates from my med school came over in white coats and just flipped their cars over and set their homes on fire. Would they enjoy it and laugh like hyenas? Some of them would, and that scares me http://www.gotapex.com/ubb/eek.gif

As far as HIV is concerned, it's a lot harder to contract than a simple cut. I got stuck by a needle once by a coworker when I used to draw blood on patients once, now that scared me. Had to do all the Hepatitus and HIV testing.

Regarding shooting the rioters - I personally abhor guns and their use. There is pretty much no reason for civilians to use guns. If they really wanted to go hunting a fast acting tranquilizer/ neurotoxin would take down an animal faster and more humanely. But if LA ever came to the point where riots were possible again, I would not hesitate to contact my veteran friends and pick up some aircraft munitions at some black market show or something. try setting my car on fire and I'll cut you in half with my 1200 rounds per minute. MY property is MINE.

I liked what the cops intended the other day, they just didn't implement it correctly. If they had a wait and see approach with 1,500 cops instead a measly 300 then people may have been more celebratory and less riotous. Light all the bonfires you want, dance in the streets like children, and drink like crazy. Just don't rock a $500k newsvan.

With regards to guns - well, I wish ONLY criminals had guns. If it were that BLACK and WHITE then cops would have a lot easier time knowing who they're dealing with. The problem we have right now is citizens are neither allowed to defend themselves fully and they are not protected properly.

If the next gun who went into 7-11 to rob it knew that the clerk simply had to press one button to activate a high power laser that could cut off the arm of anything holding a firearm (yes, we have this kind of computer fuzzy logic now), I doubt he would do it.

Admitedly some people steal for the fun of it even if they have earned wealth. The mojority of criminals, however, steal for a living because of disregard for other's property and life. This disregard would greatly diminish if they KNEW the consequences at the time of robbery. Most people think they will get away (I'm assuming).
