ok... so i would imagine that this topic has already been covered and i just missed it... but can someone please tell me whats with all the types of dvd writers out there, whats the diffrence... and why its not just like the cdr/rws?

there are two competing standards, that have many companies supporting it. the dvd+r and dvd-r. They both hold 4.7 GB of data, and are single side. dvd-r is supposed to support more stand alone dvd players that you connect to your TV. the dvd+RW and dvd-RW are he rewritable for each standards. dvd-r disks are cheaper than dvd+r disks.

what you can do is go to dvdrhelp, and check what format your dvd player uses
