My Geforce 4 Ti4600 just burnt out. So I grabbed a ATI 9600se. It was the cheapest card at Best buy with DVI output.
Anyway it only has passive cooling. I have been SO out of the market lately. Can any one make a suggestion for a good active cooling solution? I don't plan on playing games much, but the card will be running 24/7, about 98% 2D, 2% 3D.

Did your 4600 burn out from too much heat? If so your case temp is probably too high. Review your case airflow. See which fans are blowing in and which are out. There needs to be a flow across all the components in a manner that doesn't let any area sit still. Consider reworking where your cables lie, expecialy ribbon cables, to allow maximum air flow. If you don't have many fans consider adding a pair, they are cheap.
With proper case airflow and temps your video card should be fine with the cooling it came with. If you are going to overclock it, by all means, add active cooling.

Ehh, I doubt it is because of poor airflow in the case. I have two fans blowing out right above the video card & cpu. My power supply also has in internal fan in addition to the normal fan. I forget which way that blows, or sucks. I also have a fan on top the the video card, just an extra fan I had so I hung it off the cpu mount. I also have a fan blowing air in from the front. But I have three hard drives in the way. Above them is a floppy, zip and then two cd roms. All the cables are neatly tucked and running on the sides. The power cables are the only real obstruction but they are thin.
What would you recommend for active cooling on this card?

The 9600SE really doesn't need the fan. I doubt you'd ever get the case temp up that high.

I'd definitely agree with LP on this one, the 9600SE isn't very high-speed and won't get too hot. I would also follow some of Grimm's advice, make sure your cables are bundled and that your airflow isn't all in, or all out. Having a good airflow in your case always helps.
