As many of you are already aware, I started a new job at a firm about 2 months ago and have had some difficulty as a result of my boss and his changing position on agreements he made with me. Either way, I have just been dealing with it....unhappy but what can you do?
I have been worried about my honeymoon and what he was going to do with letting me take off. I previously said that if he didnt let me take it off, I was probably just going to say f*ck it. The other day, I broached the subject with him regarding my ability to take off. I had offered to only take a few days off right around the wedding and take the honeymoon a bit later, figuring that he would turn that down and tell me to go ahead and take my trip. I asked him his preference and was given an answer that I wasnt too happy with. He wanted me back at work two days after the wedding, but that I could take the honeymoon a month or two later. But he told me that if I did just take off that week, what could he do.
After some hearfelt discussion with my very soon to be wife, we decided to just take the honeymoon in April. My bosses reasoning for wanting me to put it off is legitimate and while I would have preferred to have at least 3 days off after the wedding, this is just one of those things where I have to look at what is going to be better for the future. Plus, the honeymoon wont be as rushed this way.
