As many of you are already aware, I started a new job at a firm about 2 months ago and have had some difficulty as a result of my boss and his changing position on agreements he made with me. Either way, I have just been dealing with it....unhappy but what can you do?

I have been worried about my honeymoon and what he was going to do with letting me take off. I previously said that if he didnt let me take it off, I was probably just going to say f*ck it. The other day, I broached the subject with him regarding my ability to take off. I had offered to only take a few days off right around the wedding and take the honeymoon a bit later, figuring that he would turn that down and tell me to go ahead and take my trip. I asked him his preference and was given an answer that I wasnt too happy with. He wanted me back at work two days after the wedding, but that I could take the honeymoon a month or two later. But he told me that if I did just take off that week, what could he do.

After some hearfelt discussion with my very soon to be wife, we decided to just take the honeymoon in April. My bosses reasoning for wanting me to put it off is legitimate and while I would have preferred to have at least 3 days off after the wedding, this is just one of those things where I have to look at what is going to be better for the future. Plus, the honeymoon wont be as rushed this way.

Gotta say that your boss doesn't really have much of a heart. He should let you have a week off for your honeymoon right after the wedding without throwing in some crap that would make you feel guilty. What is one week? Will the place shut down if you aren't there?

Yeah...I'm with nb on that. I would hate to work for a boss who puts work over other's personal lives. That's one of my reasons why I don't want to look for a new job, even though the one I have is vastly underpaid. I mean, i know the people here are really friendly, and if I have to leave tomorrow for a month for family reasons they will be understanding and supportive.

But on the good side, you won't feel obligated, rushed, stressed during your honeymoon, and that's definately a good thing.

Of course he says you can have time off later... He will screw you over later on the Honeymoon time off. He will continue to do this untill you quit and he brings in the next sucker on the list.
