I just bought a Chaintech GeForce4 FX 5200 that I want to use with my KT7E mb.
The video card works- tried it in a friends computer.
Put the card in my mb (AGP worked with a ATI- AIW128Pro) and I don't get any video.
I have the bios set for 4x, and updated the BIOS. It seemes everything should work, but it's not.

Boot up the machine with your old card, uninstall it from Device manager.

Power off the machine.

Remove the old card.

Power on the PC with NO video card in it. Wait for the beep codes. (this will let your machine set the bios to "no video card present. It should look for one on the next boot instead of assuming the old one is still there).

Put in new card. Should work now.

Also, if your mobo has on board video, make sure it's disabled in the BIOS.

Did you fry the video card by puting it into the AGP slot while it was set for 2x (3.3 V)?

The very last thing I did was test the card in someone else's machine- so the card works.

Removed ATI card drivers-
Turned off computer and removed ATI card
turned machine on without card- 30seconds or so (no speaker)
turned off and installed GeForce

No video- don't even get video card bios.

Sweet, noone on the internet seems to know why I have this issue.

Have you tried another AGP card in the motherboard? You may have fried that by being not electrically grounded instead (and it's very easy to do that). I would try another AGP card in that system, preferrably one that is expendable. If that doesn't work, you may very well have killed your motherboard's support for AGP (and likely more depending on the chip).

I would also try a PCI graphics card just to verify your system works without AGP.

Everything still works- typing on my mb w/ ATI. If I put the GeForce in someone else's machine, it works.
Just doesn't seem to work together.

Great, not I gotta do an RMA, and lose $10 for restocking

Just curious, what size power supply do you have? I know it's a shot in the dark but I'm wondering (I've seen that problem once before).
