Hi,
My parents have a hard time falling asleep. I want to get them those tempur pedic mattresses. But I also saw the "memory foam mattress pads" on the deals page.

Are those any good? Anyone ever try the real tempur pedics? Are they all they're cracked up to be?

Thanks,
Eric

There have been several threads here about the visco memory foam pads...do a search for "visco"...

To answer in this thread. I got one for my parents (the one from costco) and I have the one posted on the deals page. I personally think they make the bed feel a lot more comfortable. However, if you are going to get them a CA King or a Queen size, go with the costco. It's more exp but a lot better. Plus infinite return policy.

Dude, they are awsome. Once you fall asleep...you are out... your alarm clock wakes you up and you're like huh. You're well rested but it kinda feels like you kinda just went to bed.

I dunno...it didn't do it for me. I preferred the firmer feel of my mattress compared to the visco pad i got from smartbargains. I'm personally not a fan.

I wasn't impressed either. I removed mine after several months.

They make firmer foam. Just look at the density rating of the foam.

Probably from GAM. It has been done before with sourdough and french bread. Quite the sense of humor that GAM has.

BTW... myhamster, how did you get an animated avatar? I thought that only folks with "special privleges" or 1000+ posts got to get custom avatars.

I have the Costco pillow. It is really comfortable. I sleep on it once in a while when I need a good nights sleep and it puts me right out. I don't move at all. I want to get the mattress to go with it.

Ok, sounds like it's really worth a try. For the people who do use it, do you put it on top of the box mattress or on top of the regular bed mattress also?

I got the sample of the foam today, just now actually. It feels interesting. I wonder if they make a butt pad for your chair out of this stuff.

Eric

PS, I don't know about the avatar, it was one of those available ones. I have a hamster name peanut. He sleeps a lot.
