So I'm watching my friends truck while he's in poland. He's been there a year and should be coming back in a couple months. I get a call from the police and the truck appears to be broken in to. ie: the lock is hanging off the door. The strange thing is, NOTHING was taken. Why the **** would you cut the ****ing lock off a door and not take anything, were you doing it for fun?

anyone know what kind of place to take the truck to get the lock fixed?

Dealership. Don't forget the keys that unlock the car can only be made by the dealership, so I'm guessing that they're the only ones who can replace the lock.

that blows. you're probably going to end up with two different keys...one for the door, then another for the ignition.

Maybe they couldn't find anything to take and/or they couldn't get the truck started...
at least it's better to have a broken lock than a missing truck.

Go for it DF, screw the PC police.
Most likely they popped the lock then got scared off by a cop or witness. Or maybe they ran an errand with it and put it back.

That happened to my mom and dad's Grand Fury. They never got it fixed. The cool thing about it was you could sit the lock in the car body and couldn't tell, but if you wanted to unlock the door, just pull it out and twist the lock unit and it would pop the lock.

Not true... With rare exception, any locksmith can make door keys or code a new door lock cylinder to an existing key.
OTOH, when you start dealing with "chipped" ignition keys on vehicles with factory anti-theft circuitry in the ignition switch the dealer would probably be your best bet.
If the door skin is damaged, see a body shop.

yesterday i was mad.
now i'm ****ing pissed.
some f*cking retard who obviously doesn't know how the popped lock works, contorted the **** out of it, bent the metal around the door and *****ed a chunck of paint off.
I was going to repair it today, but now I want revenge. I'm going to watch the car like a hawk tonight to see if the ****er comes back. then i'm goihng to bash his f*cking head in.
