Dude I'm just thinking about getting an old Schwin repaired to tip top shape. Dayyum that's a whole lot dough for a bike. You trying to catch up to Lance Armstrong or something? :heh:

That is one schweet looking bike. What material are the spokes made of?

i just want to get some disc brakes for my lowly trek 4900. that's it.

getting a road bike would be nice too.

the spokes are nothing unusual. i'm not sure what they are.

Pretty nice :)

As soon as I can handle a saddle between my legs (the thought right now makes me wince!), we are going to start riding together. BTW, do you have a kid carrier? We have been looking around for a good deal on one for the past 9 months and can't decide.

Donnie wants to ride from town out to Lake Mead and back... I might meet them out there to refill water bottles and send them on their way back. I KNOW I am not ready and won't be anytime soon for a trip like that!

Jeez. If you're anywhere within Las Vegas city limits that's one hell of a long ride.

nope cheapie. i got mine about 2 years ago. it's a nice sturdy bike though. i was thinking about a gary fisher, but i hear they're made in the same factory. haha.

:( yeah. i know. but i didn't want to spend the extra g on dura ace. i would only save 1-2 lbs. and i can lose 20 just by working out and eating right so  i'm ok with it.

how far is that? i plan on doing a bunch of centuries (100 miles) and a 400 mile ride this fall. we have a rhode taxi for our kids. actually, we now use a burley cub trailer. i'll pull the trailer behind my mountain bike, but i'll NEVER put the baby seat on it. it goes on my wife's bike. and my new road bike? it's too cool to have either thing attached to it.

Best of luck on the new bike, Cheapie!

I'm looking for a new bike for myself, but I'm nowhere near that price range. I'm comparing the Trek 7300 FX or the Gary Fisher Nirvana.

I've also started training for the Chicago area's MS150, which is coming up at the end of June.

OH NO! Alert - there is an empty bike there. Did the cyclist fall over the cliff?

lol. nope. he was taking the pic. you laugh but further along the trail my buddy wrecked and almost lost his bike over that edge. he managed to stop it with his foot and pull it back from the edge. good stuff!
