View Full Version : Ex girlfriend woes!
My ex and current girlfriend are going to be at the same concert on Monday (march 1st, Guster :)).
What the ex knows: she doesn't know I have a new girlfriend
What the current knows: she knows that the ex will be there and she has had problems letting go of me
I found out from another person who got tickets with us, who is a mutual friend between the ex and me, that the ex threatened to kill me if I brought another girl to the concert. All the ex knows is that I'm bringing someone else. The ex later clarified that by "killing me", she meant she would have to leave.
On one hand, I say BFD! We're adults, we need to handle our problems maturely and move on... good riddance if she leaves.
On the other hand, I don't want there to be a scene that will make my current feel awkward and she might end up leaving.
What do I do?
EDIT: Hello to any of my real-life friends that read this... apparently the Got|Apex world and my real-life world just got crossed, so now everyone knows everything about my inner struggles!

When women scorned are involved there will always be a scene. I say tell her now and everyday until the concert that you will be bringing someone. This way she has a chance to digest it. Anyway you look at it I don't think this will be a stress free concert for you.

Well... here's a question. Do you care if your ex's is uncomfortable or not? If you do, then either find some way of letting her know about your new GF (multiple times before the concert would be ideal) or don't go to the concert. If what you're worried about is just that your GF would be uncomfortable secondary to a scene from your ex, then just tell your GF about the situation, what could happen and let her decide if she wants to go or not.
Make sure you put your g/f and your ex near each other. Then make sure you stand near the mosh pit. You won't get hurt, but someone will :P
Anyways on a more serious note. There is a reason she's an ex. If you don't have civil ties to her, why start now? She threatened to leave, what the concert? pfft, let her leave, she already lost her money, then she will lose out on seeing a band she wants to see. Score 2 for you.

She might not really get the point that it's over until you shove it in her face. I say go and make sure your ex sees your hot GF.

I will say score on the guster tickets, I remember watching them live at boston city hall the day their new cd came out. Free concerts rule :) Enjoy the show, it should be good.

How'd you know my GF is hot!? She's one of the prettiest gals I've had the chance to be with, and compared to the ex, she's leaps and bounds! ;)
I saw Guster 2 summers ago when they opened for John Mayer, and actually liked Guster better than the main act... hehe
I talked to the ex tonight, well, sort of broke into her apartment (still have her spare key), so she was kind of surprised to see me for the first time in 3 weeks. I confronted her, and I'll probably go back tomorrow (and knock) and talk some more... get her comfy with the idea that another girl is going to be there. Great advice Merlin, molecular, and Nija
EDIT:
<snip on my part>, cracker may do the same to his post, or GAM
Who cares what the ex thinks, look at the new girl!!!!!!!!

Nice going. Form a looks point of view (the only one that really matters! :P) she is a real upgrade.
Now why was the ex wearing what appears to be a wedding ring?

it does appear as such, but it's probably not.
(Merly's got some keen eyes.)
and i agree, altho vain to say, the second one is most definitely the hotter of the two.
don't play games Ski. if you worry about the first gf's feelings you are just dragging out the obvious. tell her point blank that you dig this new girl and she is going to be with you.

mebbe it's just me... but i'm thinking, using your key to enter her apartment was a BAD idea! You just assumed a familiarity with a girl you say has problems letting go. it's not really sending the message you want. besides, it's a little weird and creepy. permission to enter my apt whenever is only granted to a current boyfriend, not an ex, and i certainly don't want my ex walking in on me if i'm having a personal moment. next time you decide to stop by, knock, hand her the apt key back, and walk away.
congrats on the new girl btw, and have a blast at the concert! :D

Less awkwardness since ex-GF was my boss's daughter
Is that a passport I see? God I miss school.

Cut the cord man. Its not always a good idea to be friends with an ex. 3 weeks is hardly enough for her to get over it anyway. If you care about her feelings, is best not to show that you care. (i know its contradicting but it works). If you keep popping in on her or dropping by, she'll start thinking you have feelings for her and it'll make it tougher for her to get over it.
And yes, the new girl is the hotter one so I'd focus on her more if I were you.

have ex-GF cause a scene that will prompt new-GF to break up with you. then send formerly-new-now-ex-GF to me for love and comforting :naughty: :P
Hokie Passport, cracker! Yeah man
That is NOT a wedding ring :P I made fun of her for that, I don't even know why she wears it.
PLAN OF ACTION:
I have a few things to say to the Ex. She's not happy because she's basing her personal happiness on events that she can't control. Therefore, more often than not, she's gonna be bummed. All I can do it point that out to her and let her deal with it from there.
Then, consider the cord cut ;)
And whitak -- she's a keeper :D

Pretty funny, I left in 98 and I still carry mine as well.
I have my own from 2001 and some Dan Nguyen guy's one as well... I called the dude when I found the passport, but he had already gotten a new one and told me not to worry about it... the only thing the extra one is good for is when I have a brown friend over that needs to ride the Blacksburg Transit... I can't pass for the dude in his picture (white boy) :P

Ex-gf had a quote, and she meant to say "ninja" but it read "nija" ... so I sent her Nija's profile as a gag, plus she knows that I'm skiAtomic on here... bahhhh

I about sh*t my pants when she IMed me a link, I clicked on it, and it was this post. We talked for an hour and tried to sort some things out.
Soooo the concert was last night, and I completely got the cold shoulder from all her friends anyway, but nothing unexpected.

Nah, my friend still is offering to do it, but it's just sketchy that she would wire $2500 up front for something she might get (i wouldn't pull a fast one :P)
Almost-ho? I'm almost there!
