RAM Prices Going Up?

I just read an article in Business Week which stated that chip prices are up. Is that true? Is it affecting the price of RAM?

It still seems to be dropping... I've been keeping an eye on 1GB modules for laptops (for the new machines that support 2GB). Last fall they were around $1200-1400 each. Just bought one yesterday for $295.

It was just a paragraph in an article about Inflation. It stated:

"Leading-edge chip factories are running flat out, fueled by strong demand for personal computers and a revival of corporate tech spending. That's providing an opportunity for chipmakers to jack up prices significantly. Spot prices of some 256 MB memory chips have jumped as high as $5, from $2.93 a year ago."
