As I did not want to run out of disk space with the myriad of games I have purchased for my son. My external drive came in today. Its a

Maxtor 250GB 7200RPM OneTouch Personal Storage External, Model A01C250

Specifications:
Capacity: 250GB
Average Seek Time: 9.3 ms
Buffer: 8MB
Rotational Speed: 7200 RPM

Kewl setup. I have been running my ZD7000 for several hours ( well mostly my son) and its heated up (normal I am told for this laptop) and games run flawlessly just as good if not better than on the original hard drive.

I did reformat it to the NTFS system prior to use. Now I have GOBS of room and can leave substancial space on the laptop. BTW the external drive is virtually silent and does get warm to touch when working for a while. Never did hear the built in fan come on.

Congrats man. Of course you know, Jr.'s only gonna get about 10 mins a day on that bad boy once you install Unreal Tournament on that thing. That is until your wife finds that Bejeweled or Hearts tournament ;)

Good kid....(not like me)

Straight A's

Its his 14th birthday this month and this is he birthday present. I knew he wanted a laptop for a while now. He figgured he was getting a 20 gallon aquarium. When this thing arrived I just took it out and starting playing with it in the bedroom. Kinda hard to hide this beast and needless to say, the secret got out early. At any rate......its one hell of a laptop.

When I was 14 I was happy to just have my own bed.
