xbox controller for pc?

Do the adapters on ebay work?
Do most games support it?
Does it perform as well as on the console?

i read on maximum pc that the main company who was making them is no more. Main reason was there were a lot of fake/knockoffs, andpeople who were using the knockoffs were having problems. They were pointer to the main company for support. Supposedly the real ones worked ok,. So there probably will not be much driver support
