I would get the WD just based on the warranty. I have a 160gb 8meg cache Maxtor and I love it, but I don't think you can go wrong with the Western Digital.

i'll go with WD. its quieter then the maxtor i'm using now.

i just special ordered 2 200GB SATA WD drives from circuit city this weekend for 79.99 each. I cant wait for them to get here!

anywho, i have had better luck with WD, so i say got for WD and the warranty

Just make sure that the WD is the SE version. They now have 8meg non SE's with only a 1 year warranty.

If noise is a problem grab a seagate.
They are generally quieter from what I've heard.

BTW, hd's are dropping in price and theres always a deal somewhere. Just give yourself a month and jump on the next deal.

i'd go with the WD. personally i've never had any problems with my maxtor, but from what i've read, they've been pretty sh|tty lately :shrug:
