Greetings from Amazon.com.
It has come to our attention that we have no more units of "VisiontTek

are no longer any units available, and we have no plans of carrying

It's a pre-order, how can it be OUT OF STOCK?
Anyone else?

I can't find anything on amazon policy said "they reserve the right to cancelled a pre-order order"
I wonder, did they even fulfill any order?

Like Microsoft, Amazon.com didn't become the internet juggernaut by paying for their mistakes.

Man, Amazon sucks ass. Let's hope that Gateway doesn't pull the same sh*t as they did. Some peeps have already gotten their cards from GW according to FW.

I figured that would happen.
And DF is right. Just FO-GETABOU-IT!
Call em up. I heard people have been offered $20 gift certificates.
The part that bothers me about this deal is, they let it go for what 3 days? I mean after the first day they HAD to of known they were over their quota of cards with the distributor. At that point they should have pulled it (1st day). The only reason I can think they left it up is to promote traffic. You know you get people in a store they have a 50/50 change of buying something, well if you get them to buy one thing they have a 75/25 chance of buying another item. That is what really irks me about things like this. Pull it when you hit your limit, dont linger on it and piss people off. Just a bad call by Amazon IMO. Congrads to all who got in on it (if anyone did).

Person A notices alot of orders. Or software flags. Calls Person B.
Person B isn't at desk, will check voicemail 4 hours later. Calls /tries to call back Person A, but no answer.
They finally connect a few hours later. End of day. Conclude they must get ahold of person C.
Person A lucks out- Person C is at their desk. Person C wonders whats up, calls regional distributor/sales. Unfortunately he's traveling, so he'll call back from office.
Call isn't returned till the next morning (guy went out playing golf).
Orders are frozen.
Sounds like an easy 3 days. If you add in a weekend, you could go a whole week.
Just because you can call one of your buddies on IM doesn't mean the rest of the world operates that fast- electronic messaging, email, cell phones, or whatnot.

That is just so wrong and ignorant. I work for a company that has an online presence through three seperate websites selling different ranges of products to the public. While we're no Amazon (in terms of sales amounts), we do have the morals and the standards in place so that when WE make an error, WE fix it. If it's a pricing error, then WE have to eat the cost until it's fixed. We don't screw the customer. If the company I work for, that only has sales of a couple million a year can do the right thing, you'd think that Amazon, with it's hundreds of millions of dollars worth of sales a year, could do the right thing.
The worst part is that they are flat out lying. At least tell the truth if you're going to cancel everyone's orders.

Iguess you don't work for CDW because they're hosing me on the Clie NX80 + WiFi CF deal from a week or so ago.
Took my order, received confirmation email and order processing email. Then 2 days later I receive an email that there are no more in stock.
I ask how is it no longer in stock, you're still selling both items. Response, "Well both items are in stock but we have no more of the promotional deal." There was never a mention of limited quantities or any such nonsense and, by the way, how can you still sell both items and not honor the sale they made. That's TOTAL BS!
Now I'm waiting for some CDW manager to get back to me.
