Well, I did the unthinkable today. Ironically, we had a discussion about this a couple weeks ago here (http://www.gotapex.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=68567&highlight=panda). Anyway, a new VP in my division asked if I wanted to join him for lunch. He told me that he and the President, CFO and SVP had decided to go to Panda Express. Now, many of you know that I absolutely hate Panda Express and I vowed never to eat there ever again...however, seeing the attendance sheet for lunch today I couldn't turn it down.

So, we roll over in the SVPs Benz convertible and the President's Lexus convertible, ate my terrible lunch and now feel ill, but it was all worth it because I was given the opportunity to mingle with the executives from work. It's interesting hearing them shoot the **** and just bad mouthing everybody and everything. Intercompany politics is great! They talked about what really happens on the company chartered jets and the paid company trips. All the rumors you hear...ARE ALL TRUE! :heh:

Have any of you ever taken advantage of a similar situation? I felt that it could be a great experience for me just to be there since I don't have that opportunity too often. Lastly, I'm excited to be participating in the intercompany Fantasy Baseball league this season with 9 other teams that consist of the President, SVPs, VPs and then me...the lowly Financial Analyst :) Yeah, the prize is roughly $2000 and bragging rights for a year. I wonder how much it would hurt me if I won the league...:hmm:

Hell yeh, I even provide the alcohol. I always find it best to put as much liquor in all of upper management at any available opportunity.

i try to avoid intercompany politics and gossip. since most of the time it involves someone badmouthing another person, or one person being "buddy-buddy" w/ another person, and it always results in one person getting an unfair treatment (ie. getting bumped up TWO salary levels and getting massive stock options, all for just doing **** and apperently kissing some managers' nobs)

it pisses me off, really.

I give you two weeks before they ask you to drop to your knees. Haha. I kid.

I say go for it, it's worth putting up with some Panda. Besides, if this helps you get the hook up with Natalie Portman, a good many of us would be happy to live vicariously through you.
